Brooklyn, NY – A motorist was busted after he allegedly ran over a traffic agent’s foot while trying to escape a ticket.

Abraham Elias, 22, was sitting behind the wheel of a 2007 Honda Accord at a bus stop outside his home on 15th Avenue near 46th Street shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday when a female traffic agent began to issue him a ticket.
He stepped on the gas, backing up over the agent’s foot, sources said.
She screamed, and he stopped and got out of the car – leaving the vehicle on her foot as they argued, sources said.
“I only stayed on your foot for an extra minute, because I thought you were going to give me a ticket,” he later told the agent, according to court papers.
Elias was arrested at the scene.
The agent was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where she was treated for a fracture.
Elias was charged with assault and menacing, said a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes.

He never touched her foot. She said to other agents that she had a foot problem and shouldn’t been on the job today. I know people took video. Please everyone that was there should come foward and be a witness for this yingerman.

I think people need a major education to understand whats going on and that Agents are like cops.

The individual was in his car, and was waiting for the agent to write the ticket, when “know-it-alls” in the crowd told him to drive away. He did not drive over her foot, and many witnesses can testify to that fact. The agent lied about it.
He was booked for a misdemeanor of Obstructing Gov’t Administration, but when the DA spoke to the agent, they upgraded the charges to a Felony OGA.
Traffic agents have been legally given massive amounts of power. Don’t start with a traffic agent.

I heard from witnesses on the scene what happened and he never drove over her foot. SHe felt that it was a good oppurtunity to make a story on him. H e was under the assumption that if you are in your car and are parked illegaly you can’t be given a ticket and can drive away when a meter maid (brwnie) come over to you. But to call him names and such, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
just be careful when you are getting a ticket, its not worth trying to run away, the ticket is money but trying to run off will cost you more, all the agents are trained and know how to lie when something goes wrong, the worse thing about this story is, that sometimes the person getting the ticket is just listeing to some ppl with no brains and tell him run off its just not worth it.

I don’t get it. Even if he did drive over her foot. Don’t u think it was accidental? Was he such a good driver that he was able to calculate where her foot was and intentionally drive over it? I don’t think so. When I back up, there’s no way in the world I can see my tires. There are no mirrors facing the tires. So in conclusion if he did drive over her foot, it was definitely unintentional. Sounds fishy to me… I love reading the quotes… I have no love for the traffic enforcement agents or whatever they are called these days. But to allege anti-Semitism is crazy. Double parking, No Stopping,/Standing, expired meters, etc. are not targeted just towards Jews. These agents hit all the busy areas around the City because the City wants/needs the $. Plus, Boro Park is a jackpot for them… Double parking, bus stops, meters, etc. My rule of thumb when I take my car into any part of the city is “read, read and read again the signs.” Also keep a low profile. My friend is an NYPD officer and he told me they are on a summons blitz. Be careful. If I’m not mistaken, they can scan your information very quickly.
On the other hand, he could have hashed this out in traffic court or paid the ticket. Now he’s looking at much more serious charges. Of course if any one can speak up on his behalf, please do. Otherwise, I hope he and all of you learned a lesson.

i got a ticket right near beth israel hospital in manhattan. the lowlife refused to give me the actual paper, said she would mail it. she never did. lucky we looked it up on line to pay it or we would have received penalties on top of it all. they give chayas some authority and it is grossly misused.
Man, you guys are car addicts, aren’t you? Crying over a few parking spaces, assaulting traffic agents, whining whenever you can’t drive your cars anywhere, anytime, anyhow, regardless of the consequences to other people, our health, sanity and national security.
It is unfortunately a common occurance for those ‘agents’ to issue tickets erroneously then accuse the driver for assault if they protest the issuance. They have lied on many occasions and when it comes to a court case their word against the drivers’ is accepted. Beware. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ACTUAL WITNESSES TO COME FORWARD AND HELP THIS POOR FELLOW. IF HE INDEED DID NOT DO ANYTHING MISCHIEFOUS, A WITNESS (OR MORE WITNESSES) COULD SAVE HIM FOR VERY SERIOUS TROUBLE. It is a “chiuv” to step forward for any witness.
“NO STANDING” means just that. It means even if you are in the car you may not stay at that spot.That goes for bus stops and fire hydrants.It also doesn’t matter if it is a spot in front of the vehicle owner’s home.When a police officer or traffic officer writes a ticket you must accept it and you have the right to fight it in court.You do not have the right to assault an officer even if that officer is in the wrong.Lastly,if you are a frum-dressed Jew,behave and don’t cause a chillul Hashem making the rest of us look bad and causing more hatred towards us.

i moved to monsey 3 years ago and belive me i would rather pay the high property taxes then having to navigate every day which block does not have a garbage truck or 5 school buses with alternate side parking (witch to me is the biggest joke and a waste of tax payers monie) and finally after about 40 minuts of going a couple of blocks i reach 13th ave i have to circle for another 30 min. to finally think i found a spot my car is almost parked when someone bangs on my window and tells me i had my eye on that spot a block before.
here in monsey no alternate side parking. no brownie thugs. no stress driving. and yes everyone stops for a school bus when his red lights are flashing.

This could happen to any of you. Anyone who “stands” double parked waiting for somebody can get a ticket for double parking. I try hard to keep an eye on the mirrors if a police is approaching and when I see one, I move on and go around the block and stand there once again. They know that, therefore they will approach the windshield as fast as they can before you take off. If you beat them and they are still on the side of the car they can and will make up a story in order to take revenge. It is well known that if you insult a police officer while giving you a ticket they will make up another few, and if they really want to put you in place they will claim that you hit them. The best thing to do when getting a ticket is to cooperate. Once a police lady gave me a ticket for double parking (I was sitting in the driver’s seat), I told her a nice thank you, and I saw that it made her feel awkward for being cruel (a nice police officer will gently show you to move).
I am disgusted to read all the accusatory statements regarding this young man. He is innocent until proven guilty. Do we need the law to remind us? Why won’t ‘hevei dan lekaf zechus’ do.
