New York City - Streets of the five boroughs were pounded by thousands of runners, Sunday, as they ran in the annual New York City Marathon.

Runners began the race in Staten Island around 9:00 am. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder waiting for their cue.

The 26.2 mile course took runners from the starting point in Staten Island, over the Verrazanno Bridge, into Brooklyn. They traveled through Queens, over the Queensboro Bridge, into the east side of Manhattan, up to the Bronx, and finished in Central Park at Tavern on the Green.

Paula Radclifee's two-time championship was on the line. She pulled through the grueling course and took first place for the women. After she clocked in at 2:23:55, Radcliffe became the second woman to win the New York City marathon three times.

For the men, Marilson Gomes Dos Santos took first place. When he crossed the finish line in a little more than two hours, Dos Santons claimed his second win in three years.

the feminist propaganda machine wants you to believe that a woman won the overall marathon but in reality Paula Radcliffe came in at 2:23:55, and Marilson Gomes dos Santos came in at a little over 2:08.
If you go to the official marathon site there is a huge picture of paula radcliffe and a small little byline on santos

The marathon is an incredible event. For those of you who can't appreciate it, oh well, that's just sad for you, (or perhaps you are overweight, out of shape and resent people of such healthy stature). I for one love them, I run in them, and everyone I know who ran a marathon or other such races, cannot elaborate enough on how awesome the race was and how amazing they felt after crossing the finish line. If you are bashing these races, most likely you have never done one, and therefore, your comments are just that of an ignorant, jealous, mean spirited person. YAY for the runners of the NY marathon! You all ROCK! I love MARATHON news! Bring on more!!!

That's a beautiful thought, however, the point is not to "know" more Torah, it is to "live" more torah.

Interesting coincidence this year the marathon fell out on the Yurzheit of the marathon founder Fred Lebow (Fishel Leibowtiz)

It won’t happen for another 100 years!

So a few people got together in his memory (Ephraim Fishel ben Tzv)i and learned the following Mishnayos:

Benn Heh heh Omer lefoom tzaarah agrah (according to the pain is the reward)

Reb Yehuda ben taima omer hevai Oz kanemer Kal Kanesher Ratz Katzvi Gebor C’ari laasot ratzon Avecha Shebashamayim (…run like a deer …to do the will of your father in heaven))

Hevei Metalmidim Shel Aharon , Ohev Shalom Rodef Shaolm Ehav et habreyot umekarvan LaTorah (be like Aharon, love peace, run after peace, love people and bring them close to Torah)
