New York, NY - New Jersey Governor and GOP presidential hopeful Chris Christie escalated his running war of words with Bill de Blasio on Sunday by saying that the mayor of New York City might be better suited to govern “Damascus.”

Christie made the comments during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s State of the Union.

“Given the way he’s talking, and not worried about the security and safety of the people of New York, maybe he should be mayor of Damascus,” Christie said during a discussion about Syrian refugees.

The feud between the two neighboring pols heated up this week after de Blasio held up the iconic photo of a Syrian father holding his drowned infant son in response to Christie’s stance that 5 year-old Syrian orphans should be denied entry to the U.S.

When asked for comment on Christie’s most recent jab, de Blasio press secretary Karen Hinton said, “Yawn.”

In response Christie should've held up pictures of terror victims in France, as well as after 9/11. These liberal idiots don't seem to understand that Americans' security takes precedence over political correctness!

To #1. You really should check your facts before you post. I'm not 100% sure but I know the crime rate in Chicago is much higher than in NJ. Chicago, by the way is run by another left winger named Rahm Emanuel who went to the same political school that DeBlasio did. Oh, by the way the headmaster of that school is named Obama.

To Billybob: I just checked a few indexes of dangerous cities, and Newark appears on all the top ten lists. Several indexes list Camden and Atlantic City as well. Chicago is not on any of them.
