Police say Friday that Robert Hinton was shot in the head and stomach outside a public housing complex Thanksgiving night.

In September, city attorneys settled the 28-year-old’s civil rights lawsuit for $450,000.

Lawyer Nicole Bellina says Hinton had hoped to use the settlement to “give himself and his family a fresh start and better life.”

Five correction officers and a captain were fired earlier this year for the beating inside a now-closed solitary confinement unit for inmates with mental illnesses. Hinton suffered a broken nose, fractured back and other injuries.

Police say no arrests have been made. The Daily News first reported Hinton’s death.‎

He was a real great person trying to turn things around a great hero which other thugs that got shot weren’t trying to turn around their lives the same story each time.

so why was he shot? what did he do with the money he won in settlement?
what was he doing in a public housing area? He has money; he should live in a nice area.
It seems you can give the guy money but it doesn’t seem to make much of a change in him.
