Santiago, Chile – The coast of southern Chile has become a grave for 337 sei whales that were found beached in what scientists say is one of the biggest whale strandings ever recorded.

Biologist Vreni Haussermann told The Associated Press Tuesday that she made the discovery along with other scientists in June during an observation flight over fjords in Chile’s southern Patagonia region.
The team has been collecting samples since then. She declined to disclose the conclusions, which will be published by a scientific journal later this year.
The cause of death of the whales is unknown, although human intervention has been ruled out.
The scientific expedition counted 305 bodies and 32 skeletons of whales through aerial and satellite photography in an area between the Gulf of Penas and Puerto Natales.
Human intervention has been ruled out? How are they so sure? Can’t it be because the ocean is spewed with garbage, waste, plastic and oil spill that caused it?
And the Japanese whaling crew just set sail with the goal of limiting this years catch – to 333 whales. The eco-mafia is up in arms at the slaughter of these “innocent, magnificent mammals”.
Now that HKBH “slaughtered” about the same amount of whales, waddya gonna do? Who do you think runs the world?
I know the answer.
“Climate change”
why is this heimish news? every moment some whale on the planet is getting killed – shark food, octupus food etc.
now that there is rotting whale meat – feed the hungry animals we have here for our benefit ie fox, minx for ther fur and farm raised salmon – ust mix it wth garlc in a blender and voila itstant treat – its even kosher for pasover
My heart is broken over these whales–they are such magnificent creatures that Hashem created. About 6 years ago, my son and I were in Mystic CT aquarium and we were so fortunate to be able to be in the water with a beluga whale, touch it and feel it–we even got to put our hands in its mouth and use a teaching method that the trainers used. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We have also gone a few whale watching trips. ‘מה רבו מעשיך ה’
The US Navy has been deploying a type and strength of sonar that disorients and harms whales (and other sea life). This “beaching” event happened before April; six months later the US Navy was forced into a settlement in US federal court to limit its use of this sonar, at least in the US waters of Hawaii and California. Among the scientific findings: “the sonar can cause the animals to become deaf and disoriented, leading them to strand. Many of these beached whales have been found with physical injuries, such as bleeding in the ears, brain, and other tissues, and with large bubbles in their organs”.
The US Navy doesn’t dispute these scientific findings. Their only claim is that they need the technology. According to the settlement, they are free to deploy the technology anywhere else in the world, including off the coast of Chile.
