Why is it important for us to know that he has OCD? So we can ruin his reputation from here on..?
If a person is lost, we have to make an effort to find him regardless...I dont see how it helps any for us to know what his personal issues are or that they need to be publicized. Can I find him faster that way or what...I don't get it...

Thought he would end up to a place where he had been before.

If mental health is a taboo subject in your community, then it's time to embrace 21st century and leave your old ways behind. Mental health issues should not ruin reputations. People should not be forced to sweep under the rug conditions like OCD and depression so that a community can continue to pretend like they don't have these problems. Does diabetes, poor eye sight and obesity ruin reputations too?
It was important to mention OCD and seizures because it makes it a special category missing case where more urgency is taken to search for a person.

No it is not a TABOO subject in MY community .And a very close family member of mine is bi polar as well but I dont think there is a need ti publicize personal issues period. Its a private matter just like I feel releasing info that someone has cancer or diabetes...no difference. If someone is lost, there is an urgency in finding them Does it matter if ur healthy or not...does it matter to a parent who lost their child whether they are healthy or not? They are lost and their fear is just the same. They love their child as well and the same urgency applies.Danger is danger to any of Hashems children. Period.end of sentence.
Stop TRYING to bash communities...because its obvios that was your intention!

So who gets the kibud of granting lnformed Consent on the patient's behalf to release his private medical information?

This sounds like a serious beach of privacy may have occurred. If frum professionals in our community can make such a sloppy mistake, this worries me.
