Sharon, MA - Today, Monday, November 10th is the last day to vote for YALDAH magazine, a magazine for young Jewish girls, to win $100,000. Voting ends at 11:59 pm Pacific time (2:59 am NY time).

Leah Larson, age 17, editor and publisher of YALDAH, is a finalist in the Someday Stories Contest sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank. Leah’s mother, Evelyn Krieger, of Sharon, MA, wrote the winning essay, “Dream Girl”, describing her ambitious daughter’s talents and dream of expanding YALDAH magazine, which she started at age 13. Krieger’s essay was one of 5 finalists selected from 10,000 entries and is the only Jewish finalist.

The mother/daughter team is now competing for the grand prize of $100,000, which will be invested in expanding the magazine and programs for Jewish girls. Public voting is currently underway on the website , which features the winning essays and video interviews. The finalist with the most votes by tonight will be named the Grand Prize Winner.

Jews worldwide have voted, blogged about it, spread the word to their friends, and eagerly check the votes each day. Since voting opened, Leah has been competing neck and neck with "Danny", a Mormon man who wants to become a physical therapist. Danny has the resources of the Mormon community and his college. Please help make a big Kiddush Hashem! Anyone can easily support YALDAH magazine and Leah's dream by taking a minute to vote.

YALDAH magazine’s mission is to celebrate Jewish girls and women, inspire creativity, leadership, and Jewish living. YALDAH reaches to girls of all Jewish backgrounds, inspiring them all to come closer to Torah and Yiddishkeit. YALDAH is a quarterly, full-color magazine available by subscription and at select bookstores. For more information about the magazine visit: www.yaldahmagazine.com .

why should i vote for her just because she is frum? isnt that racist? like if all black people voted for obama? lets us vote on how we choose to vote on the merit of the candidates not because one happens to be frum!

If I can help a fellow Yid make some money (especially if it's being used for such a wonderful purpose) I would jump at the opportunity.
By the way, I asked a black person why he voted for Obama and he answered "he's from my kind".

Why the shame in helping a fellow Yid?

If we would have the same achdus as the blacks, maybe maybe Moshiach would be here already.

That guy who's now in 2nd place has moved up since I voted last week. He was way behind her with numbers similiar to the three that are trailing badly. Aside from the fact that she is a frun girl, her publishing of the magazine has contributed to the community. Spread the word to vote for her.

#2 Have you ever heard of V'Ahavta L'reiacha Kamocha?? I guess you missed that one! I am working hard at giving you a zchus for your attitude, but I so far cannot. Want to enlighten us all as to why you find it hard to care for your fellow Jew????

Kol Yisroel Areivim Zeh Lazeh, that means that we have a chiyuv to help her try to win...as someone wrote above, as if she were our own daughter. You are part of a group, a nation, and not an merely an individual. By the way ,how do you think that Danny got so many votes? He too is tapping into all of his friends etc...and they are voting for him just because he asked them to, and not because of his worthy cause.

How do you think the Mormon got all his votes?

Please note that they are going to verify all email addresses. So she isn't the winner yet.
I don't see a problem with voting for Leah because she is Jewish and frum. My DD loves her magazine and I know $100,000 will help her go a long way towards continuing to produce such a wonderful product. There are so few frum, tzinus magazines for our girls. And you want to sit and make this political? For goodness sake, just go vote and show some ahavas yisroel.

Must be from the dumbest things i've heard in my life.

It's a magazine for frum kids, if she wins Jewish kids will have a quality mag.

Guys continue voting a lot... because this guy has been coming from behind and more than once "caught up" with a lot of votes... to lead...

Vote and get your spouses, kids and friends to vote... it's a good cause and she deserves it...

I watched all 5 videos and I have to say that hers is the most inspiring of all. She started a magazine at the age of 12! Talk about determination. The fact that she is Jewish is an added bonus and makes me proud of my little sister.
P.S. 96% of blacks voted for Obama, talk about racism....

Leah, you are a true inspiration to us all. Your spirit of entrepreneurship at the young age of 13 is a lesson to all of us to dare to dream. Whether you win the 100k or not, you are already a winner. Not because of the 10k gift but because your story touched us all. I hope I was able to help by referring the VIN News editors to your Aish piece, which resulted in it being publicized on this site. I just hope you appreciate the awesome opportunity you have—with having Yaldah in Barnes & Noble—you can now continue Avraham Avinu’s dream of spreading the message of Hashem to the whole world. There are thousands of Jews who lost their heritage who walk into Barnes & Noble on a daily basis; picking up your magazine can be the reason they come back home. I trust that you appreciate the power of that.
I sincerely hope that you emerge as the winner in this competition. The other 4 stories are not even a close comparison, as far as the passion and the massage. Hatzlacha!
