Jerusalem – Israel’s Foreign Ministry reacted to what it called a “horrible headline” that the American CBS news outlet composed following a Jerusalem terror attack on Wednesday.

“3 Palestinians killed as daily violence grinds on,” read the CBS headline. At around 5:30 p.m. Israel time, CBS changed the headline to: “Israeli police kill 3 alleged Palestinian attackers.”
Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nachshon said the headline was “biased and dishonest,” and an example of “unparalleled chutzpa.” He said the ministry was working to “correct” the headline.
Two female Israeli Border Police officers were wounded by Palestinian terrorists who carried out the combined knife and shooting attack at Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate on Wednesday afternoon. Both of the officers were rushed to a Jerusalem hospital, with one fighting for her life and the other in serious condition. The three terrorists were shot and killed by Israeli security forces at the scene of the attack.
This is not the first time that the Foreign Ministry has protested headlines in the foreign media following terror attacks.
In November 2014, CNN apologized for mistakes in its coverage of a terror attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem.
CNN ran a ticker that read, “4 Israelis, 2 Palestinians dead in Jerusalem,” failing to note that the two Palestinians were the terrorists.
Later, CNN apologized for the headline, writing: “As CNN updated its reporting on the terrorist attack on the synagogue in Jerusalem earlier today, our coverage did not immediately reflect the fact that the two Palestinians killed were the attackers. We erred and regret the mistake.”
After the CNN incident, the Foreign Ministry issued a directive to its delegations around the world calling on them to immediately protest to media outlets distorting reports about the attack.
Nachshon at the time said that from Israel’s perspective, “tendentious reports and lies are meant to distort the reality, to defame Israel and in practice (if not always by intent) give a back-wind to terror.”
I would extend the protest a step farther. I would seek to barrage advertisers. I would pledge to boycott them if they continued placing their advertisements on that network. I know this sounds grandiose, but it’s worth a shot.
If Israel would have the courage, they’d expel these journalists. But the secular government is weak with a galus mentality and scared of the goyim.
And where is Obama’s condemnation? And the condemnation of the UN? and other big mouths?
1. They should be allowed to sue for defamation
2. This is not just a lie it is aiding and abetting terrorists by swaying public opinion. It is not such a far stretch to call these writers murderers.
Headline still bad. Why is it calling these terrorists “alleged attackers”? Makes it sound like it’s only an Israeli allegation but they may be innocent. Why not call them terrorists?
We are a nation destined to be alone in the world. We have produced a lot of new inventions and technical improvements that benefit the whole world and all we get is condemnation from them
One America Network News, which is a small cable news service carried the terrorist incident in Jerusalem, in its reporting today. However, its headlines at the bottom of the tv screen also stated “alleged incident”, implying that the terrorist incident never occurred! Also, its reporter under contract always ends his reports (of the Arab stabbing and shooting terrorist incidents), with a subtle justification, by stating “this problem started over “continuing disagreements over access to the Al Aksa Mosque (a complete lie), the expansion of settlements, and the continued occupation”. Instead of those reporters being objective, and unbiased, they insert their non-objective and biased opinions into those reports. Al Jazeera, MSNBC, CCTV (China News Service), and NIK (Japanese news) are no different.
