Trump, the real estate billionaire whose standing as Republican front-runner was dented by a second-place finish in the Iowa caucuses on Monday, was reported on Tuesday as having made it to the list of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize alongside nominees such as former US spy agency contractor Edward Snowden, Pope Francis and Greek islanders helping Syrian refugees

Thousands of people, including members of all national parliaments, former laureates and university rectors, can make nominations. Last year there were 273 nominees.

“Huge numbers of nominations are still coming in,” said Olav Njoelstad, Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute. The committee will have its first meeting on Feb. 29 and announce the winner in October.‎

Well, if Obama could get the prize for having done nothing except being elected president (that was before his “vigorous peace through sucking up ideology” became known), why not Trump?
