Al-Qeeq, who has been on hunger strike for the past 70 days, is currently hospitalized in a hospital in Afula.

The Palestinian Commission for Prisoners Affairs said that the offer was relayed to MK Osama Sa’di and al-Qeeq’s attorney, Ashraf Abu Sneineh, during negotiations with Israeli security officials late Saturday.

The commission said that al-Qeeq, who worked for a Hamas-affiliated TV station in the West Bank, turned down the offer, insisting that he be released immediately and unconditionally from administrative detention.

Al-Qeeq was arrested on November 21 at his home in Ramallah for terrorist activities connected to Hamas, according to Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency].

His hunger strike came as a protest of his administrative detention by Israel.

Last month, Emek Hospital’s ethics committee reached a decision to permit forced treatment on al-Qeeq, although it was against his demands. Palestinian leadership as well as international human rights organizations met this decision with outrage.

Last Thursday, al-Qeeqrejected the Israeli Supreme Court ruling that would transiently suspend his incarceration without a trial, citing that the ruling was an effort to undermine his struggle.

In the one recent instance where the High Court employed this new idea of suspending administrative detention, the detention was immediately reactivated once the detainee’s health had recovered – though only for a short period before he was released.

Al-Qeeq responded to the court’s decision by pledging to maintain his hunger strike with the following ultimatum: “martyrdom or freedom.”‎

What are the “international human rights organizations” NOT outraged by when it comes to Israel? Would they prefer he be allowed to die in “martyrdom” so that others will then die during days of rage protests? Of course – they want his immediate freedom and the dismantling of Israel, via the evacuation of Yehuda and Shomron and the PA flag in Jerusalem. What about Israeli “rights” – where is the outrage for Dafne Meir and all the victims of Arab terror? Human rights might be G-d given, but they can only be righteously demanded when people act in a G-dly manner – with justice and compassion for ALL. There would long have been a Palestinian state IF Arab leadership had recognized Israel’s right to exist in a peaceful and stable manner.

They should wait awhile and then release him to a cemetery.

Has Israel offered the Jewish prisoner who is also on a hunger strike a release date? The Israeli government seems to be one sided and Israel doesn’t understand why people don’t take them seriously, they seem to punish their own and give relief to others. They seem to bow to others and reject their own.

I don’t understand the whole problem we have with a prisoner going on a hunger strike. Eating is not an obligation, it’s a right. We will not starve you, but you still have the right to choose not to eat. Give him food.. If he chooses to die by his own inaction, that’s his choice. Why is Israel even offering to let him go out of prison?

When Rabbi Meir Ettinger who’s on hunger strike for several weeks – after six months in administrative detention for no reason other than being a grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahana Hy”d – lost consciousness, he did not get any sort of release offer like Arab terrorists who attacked Israelis. Just the opposite! They extended his incarceration for another 4 months! Israel has become a police state run by Bolsheviks!

This is nuts. Disgusting double standard whereby all a pali terrorist has to do to be released from prison is turn down his breakfast, yet innocent Jews are given the harshest treatment by Israel!!!! A world upside down.

Zionism is the State Religion in Israel. The Soviet Union also had a State Religion.
It was known as Communism. What these “Religions” have in common is an extreme hatred against religious Jews. That is why the Supreme Court controlled by leftists always rule against the interests of religious Jews. Arabs are always released after going on hunger strikes where religious Jews such as Rabbi Meir Ettinger are kept in prison and left to rot there and nobody cares.

The concern is because there have been credible threats of violence toward is Israel if the hunger striker dies due to his self imposed starvation.
