In the first incident, two Palestinians were throwing rocks at passing vehicles near the West Bank city of Jenin, the military said, and when forces arrived at the scene, one of the Palestinians opened fire at them. The soldiers fired back and killed the two Palestinians, the army said, adding that no soldiers were wounded in the exchange.

The incident began when an IDF lookout position spotted two Palestinian hurling rocks near the security fence located north of Jenin, in the area of Arake village.

A unit deployed to the are came under fire. It crossed the security fence to the Palestinian side, and fired on two terrorists, one armed with an automatic rifle and the second with a knife, army sources said. Both terrorists were shot dead in the incident.

“The unit acted to neutralize the immediate threat,” the IDF Spokesman Unit said.

According to Israel Radio, Palesinian sources identified the attackers as Nihad and Fuad Waked, both aged 15, from Arake. Israel handed their bodies over to the Palestinian side, according to a Palestinian report.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the two Palestinians as Nihad Waked and Fouad Waked, both 15 years old. They were from the same extended family in the West Bank village of al-Araka, near Jenin, but were not close relatives.

Later, at a West Bank security checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem, a Palestinian gripping a knife ran at Israeli paramilitary border police officers, and an officer shot and killed him, Israeli police said. No Israeli officers were wounded. The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the Palestinian as 17-year-old Naim Safi of Abadiya village near Bethlehem.

The incident comes one day after a Palestinian female knife attacker attempted to stab an IDF soldier in Hebron on Saturday, before being shot dead by security forces.

A few hours later, at the Metzudat Adumim area, a Palestinian vehicle slammed into a Border Police jeep containing three officers, wounding them lightly near Ma’aleh Adumim. Two suspect in the car sustained gunshot wounds after coming under fire by security forces.
