Presenting the 2008 award was Maryalnd’s Senator, James Brochin and Vicki Polin, Founder/Director of The Awareness Center, Inc.

In an exclusive interview with VIN News before this award was given to Mr. Rosneberg, Maryland State Sen. James Brochin, an outspoken lawmaker on sexual abuse issues, said, “I don’t know much about Rabbi Rosenberg, but the issues that he has raised should definitely be receiving of more support in the Orthodox community.

At the same time I’d like to send a wake-up call for the Baltimore Jewish Council and the Orthodox community to please support my efforts to pass the statute of limitation extension law. I am quite disappointed that the community of Baltimore, who know full well they have abuse issues, did not to come out and help me on sex abuse issues.”

Some comments are realy stupid and so are the people writeing them. U people can’t face the fact that in our community no one wants to deal with the issues that R’Nuchem raised u are a bunch of fools screaming because he did what he did and good came out of it. Maby u cold disagree of the way he did it. But that’s the only that helped get some awarness. So stop screaming my freinds u just show who u are. Till the issue won’t touch your family yull laugh about it but atleast its a still a joke for u

The man is a Tzadik and should be treated as so, all you big talkers just wait till one day one of your children get mollested by someone in yeshiva or in their school and then you will look back and cry , you will cry bc when you had someone who you could support in the fight you jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else and you laughed and jeered. Just wait my freinds when someone grabs your kid and ties his payos to the bedpost. We will see whos making the jokes then

Whether he was shot or not the issue is still child molestation. Here in Baltimore the rabanut still covers for these sick animals. When are we going to stop worrying about shiduchim and start worrying about our children?

I wish Rabbi Nachum and everyone else attempting to save the lives of innocent victims of molestation the best of luck and my sincerest congratulations. The Awareness Center is a true establishment of chessed. Every child spared the atrocities that we have covered up in the past is another victory of these brave champions of justice. These heroes risk everything to defend those that have no defense of their own.

I wish every advocate for the safety of Jewish children success and safety. Many people support you, despite the nasty comments you may see or hear. YOU are the chosen people. Your actions are the truest examples of a Kiddush Hashem. May you be Zocheh to see the fruit of your labors within the season of your toil.

Why thank the people in Baltimore for the award? Thank Kolko because if not for Kolko Mr. Rosenberg would not have this big award hanging on one of his walls!

At the same time molestation is an important issue and has to be addressed properly.
but at the same time just take in mind that this man has no problem with molestation, he simply loves to make noise and attract peoples attention.
the same reason why he acts as if he was shot, he keeps on doing all kinds of funny and silly things just for attention.

So sad that many of you think that he’s doing this simply for attention. You are the same people who are carpet sweepers. Abuse in our community? Na, let’s sweep it under the rug. Or let’s let the Rabbonim deal with it. The Rabbonim know best. But what have any of the Rabbonim done? Look at Satmar, which has personally threatened his life.

In Baltimore, the mashgiach of Ner Yisroel as well as the principal of Sheris Hapleita School have been accused of molesting. The facts are on the Awareness Center’s website. NO PUBLIC INVESTIGATION was done. The police tried to do one, but the rabbis told everyone not to cooperate with them. Therefore, Baltimore continues to be an Eer Hanidachas when it comes to child molestation Karbanos. Rav Ruderman Z”TL, is turning over in his Kever, R”L.

Here is a well known factual episode that ocurred in ger in boro park and came to its bitter conclusion roughly almost 3 years ago:

A parent of a rabbi-molested child went to a mechanech involved in the gerrer mosdos to ask his opinion about what to do with his son’s accusation. The mechanech scoffed at the parent and suggested that the child is a sicko for fabricating such lies about a well known mashgiach. Only a few years later did the very same mechanech aproach the child’s father in tears asking for mechila. G-d had stepped in to avenge the improper response of the mechanech…………the mechanech’s own grandson was molested BY THE VERY SAME MASHGIACH. Be very carefull when you attack those who have stood up against all odds to defend the voiceless victims and the innocent children whose parents and rabbonim refuse to protect from such heinous crimes.

Mr Rosenberg is a big rachmuness. He tried to help YOUR community and all he gets is “badmouthing him” Let’s see someone do what he does…… He is taking all the slack for YOU YIDDEN!!!! Yes, we need someone like him to bring awareness. Why can’t you unserstand that??? Look at Dov Hikind…. He picked up where Mt Rosenberg left off. He too is getting bombarded. Farvoos?????

What’s the difference between what happens in Williamsburg and Baltimore? Nothing. It’s the same story in every from community. Children get molested and the rabbonim do what they can to cover up the crimes — they shame and blame the victims and honor those who offend.

The only way this will stop is by people like rav rosenberg, vicki polin and rav blau.

I was personally involved in a turmoil around a molestation accusation in a heimishe moisad in Brooklyn, I had the “honor” to confront the moisad with the suspicions, I had a meeting with a few respected board members and the menahel, they took it very serious, and they wanted to fire that teacher immediately. they asked a rav (affiliated with that moisad), and the rav said that you’re not allowed to kill a person because of a 6 year old’s accusation, on the other hand, this subject is too sensitive to take a risk with the kids in his class.
the rav ordered them not to let in the kids in class before there’s a surveillance camera installed in the class room and in the teachers room. That very night the cameras were installed!
The end of the investigation, after a confession of the accuser, and after monitoring the cameras for over a year, it turned out to be a hoax. but thats not the point, the point is that most mosdos do take these issues very very serious, and don’t shove nothing under the carpet, and don’t cover on anything (there may be some very few exceptions).
and certainly, this N.R. is no solution, he has a bad history in whichever subject he was involved he has only done the opposite, he’s negative, with no derech and no goal, just a simple noise maker, a bad mouth, always does the wrong things in the wrong places.

People like this man subject themselves to contempt because they come out and accuse people of doing wrong. If there was no wrong doing going on then why are people like this coming out with a passion? Maybe it’s nothing to worry about but frankly my awareness is piqued because of guys like him. And if he is doing nothing wrong, why the death threat and all the hatred. I say don’t shoot the messenger, deal with the problem and be aware of it. The predetors are out there. You should have your antenas up so we don’t get burned. For the sake of the children.
