The whole Black Friday is a mishegas..and I agree that the stores open on Thnksgiving were disrespectful to both America and the employees..so maybe this will teach them a lesson, it doesnt pay to cater to lowlifes..and no, I dont 'celebrate' Thanksgiving, but I respect those who do, and so should Walmart.

They broke the door open, I guess someone's watch showed the store was 2 minutes late in opening. The police have film and will try to charge people.

Ditto #6. Also--wouldn't surprise me if many of these people are also complaining that because of the bad economy they don't have enough money for basic necessities.

They had people lined up from 9pm the Thurs night. At 3:30 a.m., the crowd became unruly and the police were called, however there were so many stores with crowds gathering at that hour that the police could not respond. It appears to me that a law should be made that stores who are advertising black Friday specials must pay in advance to arrange enough police protection from 2hrs before the store opens until noon when the crowds begin to thin out. In today's sinking economy, people are greedy enough to kill for a bargain. Even when the police were doing CPR, the stampeding shoppers hampered their efforts. They had to have those filthy bargains at all costs.

Same or similar results every year. Should be illegal, as it is a safety hazard- by this time next year the economy will have wrecked the animals buying power (even their credit cards won't help them), so this problem may just work itself out.

During the building of Migdal Bavel (the Tower of Babylon), bricks were very precious as they were newly invented and difficult to produce in that part of the world. So when the bricks were lost or broken, the person responsible was severely punished.
But when a worker fell to his death, no one cared because building the tower--and not human life--was deemed most important.

The difference between calm shoppers and a mob scene is a very fine line, situations can change in a second.

In addition to identifying and criminally charging the culprits responsible for this senseless death, the victim's family should bring a lawsuit against Walmart for creating such a dangerous situation in the first place. It would serve notice to Walmart - and to all retailers - that this Black Friday nonsense has to stop.
Advertising an item at a bargain price, available only at one specific time (e.g. 5AM Friday morning) - and having only 10-15 such items in stock - is an invitation to disaster. There have been incidents on previous Black Fridays of "customers" savagely assaulting another customer to grab the last item from his or her hands. It was only a matter of time before a tragedy of this magnitude happened.
