J Street fired back in a statement published on their website in which they implore Dayan to refrain from alienating the large portion of “pro-Israel, pro-peace American Jews” that the organization represents.
Furthermore, they attacked his use of slurs and entreated the new appointee to behave in a manner more befitting for an official representative of the Israeli government.
The statement went on to reiterate J Street’s objection to Dayan’s support of the settlement movement and his continued opposition to a two-state solution.
J Street recently articulated its “deep concern” over the appointment of Dayan as Israel’s Consul-General in New York.
The appointment of Dayan, a former head of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria and a resident of Ma’aleh Shomron in Samaria, came after he was originally supposed to take the position of Israel’s Ambassador to Brazil.
j street feels like the Zionist supreme court and a good percentage of the Knesset.
J Street is not Pro Israel and not pro peace, They are pro Iran and pro Hamas and let everyone decide if they are pro peace.
It is of great importance that Israel have more than one voice in America. What if a president is elected who will not talk to AIPAC? What if AIPAC is involved in a huge scandal? J Street is an alternative voice.
J Street is not an alternative voice. Mr. Dayan was correct in his comments about J Street. He should not retreat from his position and in fact should be supported by the Shomer Shabbos constituency in exposing J Street for what it really is!
Well said Mr. Dayan!
But to be more precise, Zionism in any form is not Jewish and contradicting Torah.
Further more;
If the religious parties had no issue with recognizing and cooperating with Zionism, to play foul withe the reform movement is a hoax!
#3 you mean a guy like Obama?
Nobody in their right mind can say J street is pro Israel or Pro Jewish
Yes, Mr. Dayan. However, not everything that is TRUE, needs to be SAID. Your position, and many others, requires say’chel. While it may have some truth, it is counterproductive to make such statements. Focus on getting things done, not on scoring “points”. We would all benefit from applying the same in our own lives.
If you put your eggs in one basket you take great risk.
