Brooklyn, NY – One week before the New York primary, Ohio Governor and Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich made a campaign stop in Borough Park with visits today to a matza bakery, a school for children with autism and a local Judaica store.

Kasich was the next in a string of candidates to pay a visit to Brooklyn’s Orthodox Jewish community, following in the heels of Ted Cruz who came to Brighton Beach on Thursday and Bernie Sanders who made a pilgrimage to his boyhood home in Midwood on Friday.

Kasich’s first stop was at Eichlers where he mingled with pre-Pesach shoppers, followed by a trip to the Charedim matza bakery on New Utrecht Avenue. Just down the block, the governor was given a warm welcome by the young students at Shema Kolainu, where a pint sized interviewer peppered him with questions.
Asked why he wanted to be president Kasich replied, “So I can help you to grow up and be president.”
Kasich accepted a hand-made picture of the White House decorated with cotton ball clouds, and responded with a tempting offer to the children around him.
“If I live in the White House will you all come and visit me?” asked a smiling Kasich, who was rewarded with shouts of glee and enthusiastic cheering from the students.

Is he also promising free handouts?
I happen to like Mr Kasich he’s been a successful govanor however he will never be the republican nominee. He should’ve also realized that having Freeslander shadow him was wrong everyone knows he’s a democrat hack and a Clinton apologist!
Now if Trump had gone to the matzah bakery he would have boasted that if it was his bakery they’d be turning out matzah in 18 seconds. Kasich went to a real matzah bakery after Cruz went to a model matzah bakery. We know for certain that Trump will now eat neither Charadim nor Chabad matzah at his daughter’s seder because of his rivals visits.
You should be posting the videos of Kasich’s shameless arrogance toward the bochurim and his Yoshke ‘blood on lampposts’ reference at the Chareidim bakery (not to mention SHAKING THE BOX YOU IDIOT!!) are utterly cringe-worthy. No attempt on his part to find some common ground with people different that him – he actually looked angry.
On the contrary, the video of Cruz at the model matzah factory showed that he can connect with those different than him, can affably admit when he’s in the company of those who have studied Talmud waaaay more than he has, and be gracious and even find something complimentary about the hand-made matzah, LOL (“better than from a box!”). JEWS FOR CRUZ 2016!
