New York, NY - Federal prosecutors are adding new details to the corruption indictment against former New York City police Commissioner Bernard Kerik.

The main charges -- that Kerik accepted free apartment renovations, lied to the White House and falsified income tax returns -- remain. Kerik has pleaded not guilty.

Today's superseding indictment says Kerik helped prepare false tax returns for 2002 and 2005. He had been charged with that crime only in connection with his 2000 return.

The indictment also provides new details under the charge that Kerik lied to the federal government when being interviewed about positions including director of Homeland Security.

His lawyer calls the revisions "technical legal changes."

Well, if his lawyers turn out to be right, as stated here, perhaps Rubashkin should consult with his attorneys. Seems like a bunch of "minor" infractions similar to me.
