The crash involved a minivan and an SUV on Interstate 95 in Jupiter about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to authorities.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said Heidi Solis-Perez of Stuart, Florida, lost control of her Mercury Villager and hit a median wall. The vehicle then bounced off the wall and into the path of a Kia Sorento, according to Wysocky.
Six passengers including four children in Solis-Perez’ minivan died in the crash. They were identified by authorities as: Macareo Julian-Solos, 14; Marillany Julian-Solis, 5; Alexander Julian-Solis, 7; Sandy Julian-Solis, 17; Andres Perez, 18, Reynaldo Diaz, 31.
Heidi Solis-Perez and another passenger, Daisy Julian-Solis, 11, were listed in serious condition.
The driver of the Sorento, Sharwen Pierre Louis, 21, of Ft. Pierce, received minor injuries, the highway patrol said.
Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto told the Palm Beach Post that emergency first responders found multiple victims lying in the road.
The highway patrol said it is unclear if the passengers were wearing seatbelts.
Three died at the scene, and three others at hospitals.
I have heard some say it’s because people go to Hotels in Florida and don’t make Pesach at home. Has anyone else heard such a thing? Source?
That has to be the most ridiculous comment made on VIN (& that’s saying a lot).
The Solis/Perez family did NOT make Pesach at home OR a Florida hotel. Not sure where they celebrated Easter.
Applestein why would say something so stupid and stir a pot u fool. This family not even Jewish and u think a comment like that is a joke to make fun of. How would u feel if we’re G-d forbid your family would you want somebody making some kind of comment?
Please don’t make a joke of a tragedy.
I don’t know what caused this horrible accident, and I feel extremely sad for the families of the victims. It is extremely tragic when any driver (no matter who they are), loses control of his/her car, and takes innocent lives with them. Statistically speaking, based upon past accident reports from the National Safety Council and from law enforcement, the vast majority of such accidents where a driver loses control, are not due to mechanical defects of the car; rather, they are due to driver error, which includes speeding, reckless driving, distracted driving, and drunk driving. In many cases involving injuries and/or fatalities, seat belts have not been worn at the time of the accident. I am not passing judgment on this specific case. Yidden, as drivers we must all be constantly aware of our driving habits and be be especially careful when changing lanes, entering a highway, exiting a highway, coming to a full stop at a stop sign, not following the car in front of us too closely, passing a car in front of us well in advance (and not on the person’s bumper), avoiding road rage incidents, including hostile gestures, and being courteous to other drivers at all times.
I am sure Appelstein is joking, since, as has been pointed out, the comment makes no sense, even to a chareidi
