New York - A special report produced by WNYC Radio in conjunction with The Daily News shines the media spotlight on Williamsburg which has one of the highest concentrations of Section 8 housing in New York City.

The report, paid for at least in part by a grant from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s Urban Reporting Program, notes that organized efforts within the Chasidic community have been extremely successful, helping the many who live below the federal poverty line secure one of the highly coveted Section 8 vouchers that give them access to subsidized housing.

The media should also highlight how there are ZERO murders or any other violent crimes amongst Hassidm in Wiiliamsburg.

Self hating Jew Marty Needleman has never ever in his life thought of sticking up for his fellow Jews. His only worries are that Hispanics should get more housing then Hassidim. The fact that Hassidm get ZERO apartments in the projects in williamsburg makes Needleman happy. Even though it became crime ridden still he does not care.

Also, there is a special place in Gihonem for these greedy Hassidic developers who drive up real estate in Willimasburg forcing families to move away or to pay outrageous prices. Shame on them!

Rabbi David Niderman can do far more for the community to bring down the outrages greedy prices.

If you read the full article, it's actually not a bad article. It articulates how the Hassidim work TOGETHER and look out for each other and that's why they know of programs and how to sign up for them.
With that being said, I agree with #2 in regards to Shame on the developers who caused a rental crisis in Williamsburg.

The section 8 is what made the real estate and rent so high, so it's a good thing that they are looking in to this issue. So many families can't live or pay bills because all the money they make goes for rent because they are honest and don't steal

#2 there are plenty of projects in Willy with Hasidim. Marty Needleman is a tzadik and who by wearing a Yamaka makes a Kiddush Has-em everyday dealing with the hard working Latinos in the neighborhood many of whom work for Hasidim. Section 8 should be completely abolished as the article indicates it is the reason why rents are so high, in due time when this country goes bankrupt (very soon) Section 8, Medicaid, food stamps will cease to exist and those that don't work will suffer.

Can't you stay positive, must you inject negativity into a positive statement?

its ridiculous to blame the developers, how about the land owners who want top dollar for their land? actually there is a special place in gan eiden for every developer who builds in williamsburg and is not renting or selling to the goyem, because trust me its tempting, the new developments in williamsburg for chasidim are selling 25 to 40 percent (atleast) lower then the next door non Jewish developers.

case in point, domsey, where the chasidim paid 400 per sf, and next door is selling for 1300 per sf.

Yes, I can stay positive when I choose to be. However, the mentality is still atrocious and sickening.

Please try not to fool us. Although we are fools by letting ourselves lead by selfish leaders. Still we know the truth.

No thank you for any developer who builds in Williasmburg. If they CAN sell for non-Jews they would of.

They are ripping off poor innocent young families.

The cries of our poor brothers and sisters are almost reaching its peak.
Its a Shnada that all Rebbes are giving honor to all these rich greedy frum developers. Their money is BLOOD MONEY!

so when the outskirts of Williamsburg were dangerous to walk thru even by day the chasidim stayed there. now that it became trendy due to the hipsters, they are expected to move out?
I don't hear about robberies and shootings in the chasidish housing areas like other section 8 areas.
if hipsters want to pay mega bucks then good for them. if chasidim can find something for a lower rate then G-d Bless!!

That is the most ridiculous statement ever made.
"Because there's no murders....therefore you should look away from our community"

Do you hear yourself?

Al Pi Halicha, you are wrong...Emotionally you are RIGHT 100%.
Business is business, and if someone could get top dollar, not sure hes not entitled.
In shumayim after 120 Hashem judges us differently and there are questions to answer. Here in Oilem Haza there are halochos..Is it personally right, maybe not. But Hashem gives us all what we need, if he wanted you to have the house, you would.Thats the attitude you need to have, otherwise life is never fair...but it is.

But you are on a public forum and besmirching your own is a big sin as well. We have enough detractors on the outside, we don't need inside help. Besides talking Loshon Hara on your own is a sin, plain and simple.
It's pushet common sense.
We are not unflawed, however washing dirty laundry in public is NEVER warranted...we have enough enemies, we don't need more.
Just think, and let your frustration out to your friends, not here.
Thanks.
It bothers me to no end that yidden sometimes have no seichel.
The world is watching.
We have more than enough good things to advertise, why not do that instead?
