The 22 year old victim told CBS News that the biker had passed in front of his car on Roebling Street without any interactions but that when their paths crossed again at a red light on Wythe Avenue and South 6th Street, he honked the biker as she passed through a red light.

“I honked my horn from my car and just showed her that it’s a red light,” said the victim.

The woman was described by police as having long black hair, approximately 25 years old and possibly of Hispanic descent.

Surveillance footage from the victim’s dashcam shows the woman getting off her green bicycle and throwing it down in front of the victim’s car before taking a picture of the car’s license plate and then approaching the driver.

The driver said that the woman let loose with a five minute tirade of curses before reaching into the victim’s car and grabbing his sunglasses off his head, scratching his face in the process. The woman put the sunglasses on top of her head before placing then in her bag.

She fled southbound on South 6th Street toward Kent Avenue and was last seen wearing a red sleeveless t-shirt, black shorts, a black baseball cap, glasses and a black crossbody bag.

The NYPD has released both video and pictures of the suspect in the hopes that someone will be able to identify her.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline by phone at 800-577-TIPS, by text at 247637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577 or online at www.NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.

thanks to Bloomberg and his pie in the sky idea of bike lanes these encounters happen often now.

This might be a radical idea, ENFORCE THE LAWS!
Every day cyclists ride through lights, stop signs and ride wrong way. All these actions endanger safety. Our Mayor is blind to the dangers all the while he is touting safety. Traffic is also much worse, with more pollution caused by eliminating lanes to allow dedicated bike lanes.

Is this a joke? Don’t honk unnecessarily! completely unproductive and annoying!

The driver should have kept his window closed; incidentally, this is not a robbery , but a larceny.

last week i was in boro park and a yellow school bus in front of me stopped sideways, flashed the red stop sign which obviously meant that it was letting children off.
there’s a law that you are not allowed to pass a school bus stop sign .however the cyclist near me just continued right to the left side of the bus and didnt even stop!!what do you think?he crashed into some young boys who were getting off.
i couldn’t believe my eyes.i always hear about the blatant disregard cyclists have for the law.but that was very upsetting
