Atlanta – Jimmy Carter Remembers Israel’s Peres For Work On Peace

    In a statement released Wednesday, Carter says: “Mr. Peres worked for many years to bring peace to Israel and Palestine, and he showed great courage in his work on the Oslo Accords, which had the potential to transform the region.”

    Carter says he and his wife, Rosalynn, were saddened to learn of Peres’ death and recalled Peres as “a gracious host during my visits to Israel while he was in office.”

    “We extend our deepest condolences to his family,” Carter said.

    The former Israeli president and prime minister died Wednesday at the age of 93.
