In addition to the general information, those who attend the event should know that the Orthodox organizations co-sponsoring this rally invite everyone to participate in a traditional mincha minyan by approaching the stage. The minyan will begin promptly at ten minutes after the rally's conclusion. The Baal Tefilah will be using a microphone directly in front of the stage, and we urge all interested to join and not form separate smaller minyanim.

Rabbosai. I don’t post often here but i fell that i MUST share my feelings on this issue.
It's is really mind boggling, extremely disappointing and quite frankly shocking that we have done almost NOTHING to show support for our fellow yiden in Eretz Yisroel.
Just look how the muslims (most of them terrorists ym"s) have come out in very strong numbers to show support to their fellow terrorists.
WHERE ARE WE YIDDEN?!?!?!
Why is it that we feel we have no obligation to show OUR support as well?!?!
What in the world does the danger which our brothers and sisters are facing in E"Y have to do if you're CHASIDISH, LITVISH, MODERN, ETC.? Who cares???
Do the arabs focus in on a particular group when they try to kill and murder??
As a matter of fact EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US has a CHIYUV to go and show support in my opinion.
Am i the only one that feels this way?
I hope not.

Would it not be great if R' Avrohom Schorr and other roshei yeshiva across the spectrum (I mean even YU rabbonim-G-d forbid anyone go there) in front of thousands gave a rousing speach on unity teshuva feeling our brothers pain. All could use a good wakening frum and not yet frum.

Stand Up
This is a very good event and surly needs to be complemented for it. At this point in time there are three main elements being dealt with here. One is prayers to Hashem to protect us at this difficult time. The second is to give the needed support to government to continue on their ways. The third is to show the world that there are people that stand behind Israel and what they are doing
I would like top focus on the middle point and leave the first and third for another discussion or comment. As the classic stories of one of the Former Prime Minister telling a President that I run a country of Four million Presidents while you run a country of 300 million citizens. It is certainly not an easy job to do and I don’t plan on putting it down. However there is one part of his job which is more important then all other jobs, putting security first.
In the beginning of Shulchan Aruch he writes about the fact that “Al tivosh Mipnie Hamaligim “not to be embarrassed from those that mock you. This means that one of the most difficult aspects of Judaism is to not be afraid to do what is right regardless of what people will say.
The same applies here. In order to be Prime minister one must be able to stand up to world pressure to do the right thing for his nations security even if it is very difficult. I hope to expound on this point more in the comments to come stay tuned

Its wrong Not to get involved. The reason is that us normal people jew, and non-Jew alike, Frum and non all have real lives, real obligations, jobs, kids, etc. The "other side" (terrorists, arabs, liberals) for the most part are idle, no jobs or obligations, to put it bluntly "Nothing better to do", plus it gives them an outlet to yell, curse, make finger gestures, etc. lots of fun stuff. Also, the feeling is that Israel is doing just fine without it (militarily speaking) and clearly winning. There doesn't seem to be any Urgency. Personally, I would like to be able to say the special Brocha one makes upon seeing a group of100,000 jews together at one time.

However, other events were planned for Sunday morning prior to this and cannot be cancelled so easily. So please don't yell (your use of capital letters) that it is a chiyuv.

It's a chiyuv to support this, not a chiyuv to actually go. Not everyone is able to. But encourage everyone you know to go.

Please try to use your common scence here. If you can't go you can't go.
What poster #3 obviously meant was, that if you're not busy with other important things at the time then you have an obligation to go & show support.

The problem lies with you. Stop worrying about when the Aguda will do something. If you feel it's important to go then ask your rav and I am sure your rov will tell you to go. The Aguda can't pasken anything for you but your rov and the gedolim can. Stop worrying why the Aguda did not tell you to go to a counter demonstration.

I am grateful to vosizneias for publicizing this Rally. It is extremely important that there be a very large crowd at this rally. There are many co-sponsors, among them the National Council of Young Israel and the Orthodox Union. Rabbi Pesach Lerner and I, as heads of those two organizations, are working hard to assure a large attendance. We have arranged for a Mincha Minyan b'rov am. Please spread the word and try to come in large numbers. THW

And therefore, Eretz YIsroel and Am Yisrael should disassociate from you. But if you happen to be Jewish in spite of your most anti-Torah statement, in spite of your skewed hateful opinion, I have to accept and embrace you as a Jew. I wish you a refuah shleimah.

Yasher Kochachem for organizing this rally. Obviously we daven, say Tehillim, increase mitzvos, but it is also imperative that we show our support, if just for the morale of the chayalim and let the world see that we,too, can protest.

I am a liberal, don't mind being called that, and am NOT on the "other side". I've made hundreds of comments on dailykos.com in support of Israel over the past two weeks. Israel deserves the support of all Americans regardless of where they stand on other issues.

#10 you should know that when Hitler and the Nazis murdered jews they did not ask how religious they are nor what country they came from - they just murdered Jews.
When the Arab terrorist shot into the school bus on the Brooklyn Bridge and killed a young teen boy - he didn't ask what his religious affiliation was and if he was Israeli (he wasn't)
When the Arabs in Gaza or Lebanon shoot rockets and mortars they don't ask if it will hit a tzioni or charedi.
When the Al-Queda flew the planes into the Trade Center etc. On 9-11 they didn't ask who will be killed jew or non-jew, white or black, man woman or child - they just wanted to Kill and wreck havoc and terror - and they did.
You see #10 Morty - we - the entire non-Moslem world are all in this together - this is a fight for survival against an enemy that WANTS TO KILL and WANTS TO DIE.
Despite what Carter and Obama believe there is no way to negotiate with someone who wants your death as his entry to "heaven".

I was by the rally on Tuesday. The problem is the people who they put up to speak. Almost any normal person would be embarrased. You have to put a non jew and arabs to speak? I did not see that R Lerner or R Weinreb speak. I am sure that some of the more right wing arganizations would agree to sponsor if not for the participation of some of the violently anti frum who are cosponsors. As an aside in my office we got a fax from one of the modern orthodox orgs with one kapitel tehilim and a misheberach for tzhl. At the same time the moetzes sent out a kol korei calling for additional tefilos and reccomending saying five kapitlach. I wonder who is calling for more?

maskim. it was actually troubling the last time there was such a huge gathering. the best speakers were nuns and priests. the representatives from other religions were religious leaders.
from the jews however, it was all hokcers and politicans who spoke. not one actual rabbi. it is sad that with the backing of orgs like the ou and ncyi that we cant even actually have one ordained rabbie musmach rov or rebbe speak.
i hope this sunday that will change to something substantive.

First see comment 29. Second they are in beis medrash learning and will continue to do so as a zchus and shmira for those in North of Israel and the soldiers serviing there. Do you think you will accomplish standing outside the Israeli consulate listening to bunch of speakers talk foolishly (I have been by these gatherings and the most inane people are the ones who are speaking. Most just want to have their face on television)
Go to a beis medrash or shul and learn and daven for our fellow yidden. It is much more effipective than listening to the silly speeches that will be made.
