Meir announced Monday evening on social media that he is engaged to Zohar Morgenstern of Jerusalem. The announcement comes over a year after the terror attack in the West Bank settlement of Otniel.

Dafna Meir, 38, a mother of four and foster mother of two young children, was stabbed to death in January at the entrance of her home by a teenage Palestinian attacker. She was fighting off her attacker in what is believed to have been an attempt to save three of her children who were in the house.

The couple’s oldest daughter, Renana, 18, who witnessed the attack, became engaged earlier this month.

In a Facebook post Tuesday morning, Meir thanked his children for their support and sharing in his happiness. Without them, he wrote, “I could not open my heart to love again.”

Israeli lawmaker Yehudah Glick, who is a friend of Meir, tweeted a photo of the couple with his congratulations.

He told Walla: “I wish him a new branch in his wonderful family tree.”

Mazel Tov! Let us all wish him health and wealth till the 120.

Let us all hope that for the love and safety of his family he and all other residents who reside in dangerous settlements will move out.

ANY person who lives in the settlements among bloody Arab murderers are insane.

Any rabbi who promotes and encourages naive people to live in dangerous settlements can almost be considered as Rodfim.

Reply to #5 & #6 . Ur emotions go above all logics. These people ought not to reside in these dangerous settlements. Maven is just the sympathetic logical Jew you people are incapable of being. The people in the settlements are absolutely mabid atzmoi ledaas.

Wow! So all the folks who lived in Williamsburg in the 1970’s and 1980’s with the Puerto Ricans should have moved out too?

Ad matai will you keep running? The “settlements” are our land, promised to us from Hashem. Or do you not actually believe that?

    Phooey!

First mazal tov I hope this couple builds a bayit Shene’eman byisrael & has a binyan aday ad!!! Second, you’re right true yid, maven was being very sympathetic…sympathetic to their loved ones in Palestine after all they have to stick up for their Arab loved ones as do you. Second, maybe we should move out of Seagate after all its way to dangerous to live there with what goes on right outside the gates & can be brought in by one guard being lackadaisical (look up the word). Let’s not forget what happened a few years ago right outside to yiden. I myself have been to Ofra, it’s beautiful. I’ve been to chevron, had a friend who owned a mansion there absolutely gorgeous. If you (same goes to Maven although they certainly are not a maven on anything in israel & yidishkiet) had any faith you would know ALL of Israel is ours not your brothers the arabs & would side with am Yisroel. Wishing you will be able to do so soon! AM YISROEL CHAI!!!

I wish to reply to the scholar who stated that someone was safer living in Flatbush or other areas, than on the West Bank. Unfortunately, there are some areas in the USA, where it is more dangerous than Baghdad or Kabul. Unless someone has armed guards with him 24/7 and live in a gated area or another area, which is extensively patrolled, they are not really safe.
