Absurdly, the police claim they were ‘going backwards’ but not running away. But the video clearly shows the police retreating under fire, being chased through central London by protesters chanting ‘Allahu akhbar’ as they pelted officers with traffic cones and screaming ‘cowards’ and ‘they’re going to get it’.
It is hard not to reach the dismal conclusion that a society faced with violence in pursuit of the goal of overturning values and conquering Britain for Islam turns tail and runs away – while at the same time coming down like a ton of bricks on any expression of those values which underpin British society, in the interests of ‘equality and diversity’.
This is the way a society dies.

I dont quite think the police were running away in fear. I watched the whole video and it seemed like they were trying hard not to engage in a fight with the protestors who were acting like animals. There were a few times when they stood up to the protestors when they had to. Otherwise, they basically ignored petty insults and tried to get out of the way when someone was trying to start up with them. They likely realized that to respond would cause a riot and so best to allow the people to march down their parade route (so the police were not retreating, they were directing the crowd in a Lasse Faire manner. That being said, it is true that the crowd was acting like animals and the police, in trying so hard to avoid confrontation, gave off an impression of fear which is not a good idea. As soon as things were thrown at the cops they should have begun using the threat of crowd dispersal (e.g., water cannons, tear gas) to bring the crowd under control. The police acted with restraint because in a democracy you do not want to break up a demonstration by the people without just cause and not liking what they are saying does not count due to free speech prinicipals (although they do not have a bill of rights as we do). The question is, how much misbehavior within the crowd justifies the right to end the entire crowds right to demonstrate. In this case, I think i was when objects were hurled at the police.

When a similar thing happened in Singapore back in 1950, we Police held banners warning “Disperse or we will shoot”, and used loud speakers to get the message accross, in all the local languages/dialects.
When they started throwing bottles and stones, we gave another warning and then caled out (and this went over the loudspeakers) “One round” , and the Police took out one round and held it over their heads for all to see. Then came “Load” and the bukket was loaded into the rifles. The “Ready” and the rifles came up to the shoulders. Then we gave another set of loudspeaker warnings and “Aim”. Then one last warning, then “Fire”. Withing one minute the rioters had all run, leaving only some blood on the road. The following day we did the same things again, and the rioting stopped.
Learn the lesson !! You cannot argue with mindless fanatics who are demanding you hand over your entire country to them.
And yet Britain will continue to sympathize with and defend the Muslims – yet boycott and hate the Jews. They deserve what they get.
