New York – NY Assemblyman: NYC Palestinian Activist Sarsour Speech A Threat , And Very Dangerous

Albany, NY – NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brookyn) warned that Linda Sarsour’s recent threats against President Trump and his administration should be taken very seriously.

Sarsour, the Palestinian activist and terrorist apologist who recently delivered a keynote speech at CUNY, has called for a “jihad” (Islamic holy war) against the White House.

Speaking this past Saturday, to the 54th Annual Islamic Society of North America Convention in Rosemont, Illinois, Sarsour’s 22-minute speech called on Muslims to unite against American government oppressors.

Sarsour began her address by thanking her “favorite person in this room … Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been a mentor, motivator, and encourager of mine.” Wahhaj was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.

She went on to say: “I hope, that when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad,” said Sarsour. “We are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad … but here in the United States of America, where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reigning in the White House… Our number one and top priority is to protect and defend our community. It is not to assimilate and to please any other people in authority. And our top priority … is to please Allah, and only Allah.”

Sarsour’s address was delivered in front of the nation’s largest Islamic advocacy group, which has deep ties to extremism.

“Words matter,” warned Assemblyman Hikind. “Attacks on the police, like the one New York suffered yesterday, are precipitated by violent slogans calling for violence against the police. The attack on members of Congress, an attack that left Representative Steve Scalise in critical condition, was preceded by violent threats from extremists right here in this country.

Linda Sarsour is a very dangerous person. She knows full well what she is saying and who she is saying it to. Holy wars are a reality all over the world and here is someone right in this country who has the ear of many people calling for a holy war.

“The first World Trade Center bombing was practically laughed off because no one was hurt. But 8 years later, we saw the results. I say this in all earnest: Take Linda Sarsour and her attempts to radicalize people very, very seriously.”

Federal prosecutors have labeled the Islamic Society of North America as part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood network that was initially set up to raise funds for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

The annual ISNA convention has often featured radical Islamists. In 2001, Anwar al-Awlaki (who later became the leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula), gave a keynote lecture on “tolerance.”

The ISNA convention is consistently rife with anti-Semitism and serves as support for U.S.-designated terrorist organizations.
