The 92-year-old former president known for his post-presidential humanitarian work was taken to a hospital in Winnipeg as a precaution for rehydration, spokeswoman Deanna Congileo said.
Habitat’s CEO Jonathan Reckford said the former president was “dehydrated working in the hot sun” at a build site in Winnipeg. Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, are in the middle of a project building houses in various Canadian cities.
“President Carter told us he is OK and is being taken offsite for observation,” Reckford said. “He encourages everyone to stay hydrated and keep building.”
Habitat for Humanity said any further updates would come from The Carter Center in Atlanta.
The Carters are prominent backers of the Atlanta-based building charity. This week’s project building houses in several Canadian communities is the 34th time the Carters have pitched in on Habitat projects, lending a hand and their name to promote the work.
Carter was diagnosed with melanoma that spread to his brain in 2015 but announced in March of the following year that he no longer needed treatment. Carter continued to volunteer for Habitat while being treated for cancer, working alongside volunteers at a home in Memphis in November 2015.
1] How many of our Rabbonim and Gevirim get out and build homes for the poor? Let’s for now not talk about the one’s Carter’s age, let’s talk about the young ones.
2] How many of our Rabbonim and Gevirim are in any way involved in mosdos to provide affordable housing?

Get used to the heat, Mr. “Peace not Apartheid.” It will be a lot hotter in the habitat you’re heading to soon.

To #3- Your remark was stupid, and disrespectful. Evidently, your Mother never taught you any manners.
Carter has had a choice these 37 since he left the presidency:
a] He could go out and build casino-hotels where people could go to sin;
b] He could go out and build homes for the poor.
At Carter’s age, it’s a big deal to wake up in the morning and be able to leave the house. I don’t imagine he’s much help on any construction site, but it says a lot about him that he makes the effort, and his presence on the site probably inspires all those who remember how he used to do the sweat and muscle work when he was younger.
I hope I am still doing charity work when I am 92.
Reply to #5 : The “manners” that my father, a Holocaust survivor, taught me is to love those who love the Jewish People and hate those who hate us. My remark was absolutely disrespectful, but it is you, my naive, self-hating friend, who is the fool. Get educated and see what a Jew hater Carter is. Try reading, e.g., “Jimmy Carter’s Jewish Problem” by Prof. Debora Lipstadt; “The many lies of Jimmy Carter” by Paul Gherkin, and “Dershowitz: ‘Jimmy Carter Has the Blood of Thousands on His Hand'” by Melissa Clyne. Then you can get back to me with about etiquette.

Why is this mamzer still alive? He should have died from the heat. I don’t understand you American Jews who think you need to show him respect. There are thousands of Jewish graves on Har Hertzel & other military & civilian cemeteries that are a testament to his “respect” for us.
To #10 - I stand by my original remark, as you showed no derech eretz; your remarks about an elderly ex-President were a disgrace. The fact of the matter is that Carter saved the lives of thousands of Israeli troops, by brokering the Camp David accords, whereby there was a withdrawal from the Sinai. Israeli troops who returned home from the Sinai between 1979-1982, were grateful to be back with their families. Because of that withdrawal, the Israelis and Egyptians today, cooperate on fighting terrorism in the Sinai, by sharing intelligence with each other. I am not a self hating Jew, but a proud Jew; however, Halacha mandates that we don’t wish bad things on other people, or gloat over the death of enemies. Evidently, you never learned that.
Reply to 17 (and 14): You really are a well intentioned fool, the type that has caused tzoros to klal yisroel over the millenia. Show respect to an anti semite like Carter? Appreciated by Israelis? Right. That’s why bh Netanyahu and Rivlin refused to meet with Mr. “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” in which he wrote: “Israel’s continued control and colonization of Palestinian land have been the primary obstacles to a comprehensive peace agreement in the Middle East.” Carter demanded that the US take Hamas off the terror list during the Gaza war, and called on the EU to label products coming from West Bank “settlements,” because they’re illegal under international law. Perhaps you should learn the halachos of hakaros hatov instead of trolling the internet.
To #12 - You remind me of the Israelis, who were wishing bad things to happen to Yitzchak Rabin, before his assassination. Carter is not responsible for the deaths of Israelis. Rather, it was the Israeli assassin, who killed, Yitzchak Rabin, which caused further bloodshed, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives (i.e. the suicide bombings of the 1990’s, and early 2000’s, and the Second Intifada. Also,it should be noted, that unlike your Knesset, where spectators and members of opposition parties engage in catcalls, the visitors to the visitor’s gallery of both the U.S. House and Senate, as well as opposition parties, don’t engage in such undignified, trashy behavior.
