“They told us the White House will watch for any Jewish construction,” said the PA negotiator, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Obama knows that if [Likud Chairman Benjamin] Netanyahu is the next prime minister, he will try to expand the settlements. They pledged to us this will be strongly protested,” the negotiator said.

Although Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni’s Kadima party captured one more seat that Likud in last week’s elections, Netanyahu is considered most likely to form the next government, since he is reportedly able to forge the most stable coalition with other parties in the 120-seat Knesset.

The PA officials said they were enthusiastic about the new tone of the White House and about recent meetings with Obama’s Mideast envoy, former Democratic Sen. George Mitchell. They said they believe that under Obama the Palestinians can extract from Israel concessions reaching “much further” than during talks held under the previous administration.

“Regarding all understandings achieved between the parties, the Obama administration told us they will give guarantees to carry them out,” said a top PA official.

“With Obama, the number of settlers to be removed from the West Bank will much be more important than 60,000,” said the PA official, referring to previous negotiations in which Israel expressed a willingness to withdraw from up to 94 percent of the West Bank and move about 60,000 settlers into central settlement blocks closer to Jerusalem.

A top source said the PA requested that the Obama administration threaten sanctions against Israel for any new Jewish construction in the West Bank.

The source told WND that Obama is said to favor Israel withdrawing from nearly the entire West Bank.

Only blind sources and anonymous quotes. How can anybody believe anything quoted in this article which by the way was written by somebody with a less than stellar reputation in regards to credibility and an apparently frequent history of using unconfirmable quotes and sources.

Whatever you believe about the new settlements, the practices of the prior governments in EY has to change. They say one thing and do another and make believe there is no change in policy. If they believe that all prior committments are null and void they should say so and indicate that new settlements are allowed. Otherwise, they should stop this “game” of quietly allowing new settlements and then claiming they are illegal but do nothing to remove them. I personally believe that they should continue building new settlements and expanding existing ones in those areas which we know will never be returned but its a waste of money and risking the lives of yidden to build new homes where there is a high liklihood of the land being returned to the Palestinians as part of a peace agreement.

OK. So “build” bridges roads highways and schools in the US of A with money that we don’t have and in places that don’t need them (and workers who are generally unqualified and will stretch out their work as long as possible so that they can still have a “job”) and stop the building of a few homes in tiny Israel. This Mr. Obama will bring peace. This is the change and unity that we needed.
This man is on track to be the worst president in history. Nisht ztum gloiben.

Its amazing to see what happens to a person when elected to the highest posotion. Have they forgotten? This isn’t about Land or Peace or Economics. Its about religion. It can’t be negotiated at a conf table or with all the envoys of the world. There is only one option. ‘SHMOD’ all the young arabs so they become non-relegious and all they’ll want is to watch movies, eat Chazer, wear designer ripped clothing and enjoy the good life. We should even give them credit cards and all types of leased late model cars. The last thing they’ll care about is some Sheikh preaching.

In other words- Mr. Obama is trying his best to influence Israeli election results- He is holding out a carrot for Livni, and a rotten termite eaten stick for Netanyahu.
Despicable action on Obama’s part- and it will Not work, G-d Willing.

“Obama Pledges to Protest Jewish Housing Developments in Jerusalem.”

    How interesting!

In America, such things are called “Housing Discrimination.”

But hey, if Obama wants to protest Jewish housing developments in Jerusalem, then why shouldn’t I protest Black housing developments on Long Island?

I cant wait for this to backfire in their faces just liek the UK gaurdian pieces did.

These people dont catre about progress they just care about making stuff up to instigate unwarranted bad press of Obama. It is truly sad that the frum blogs eat this tuff up liek its torah from sinai.

If this is true it would seem The Obama is attempting to influence the final results of the Israeli election. Isnt that the same thing The Obama and his hentchmen are trying to do here in the USA with the Senate seat from Minn??? Isnt this the same thing Der Shlikmeister Slick Willy Clinton did to them in the 90s??

I guess this is the transparency change the messiah ran on during the campaign. The problem is that its so transparant, its see thru so you dont see it!

What people (including the US government) forget about is the following.

It is the Arabs (oh sorry, Palestinians) are the ones that are the people who construct all of these projects.

meanwhile Obama proved to be pro Israel in most aspects, the muslim leaders thru-out the world denounced him as a traitor.
so he has to show some balance. all he said was “he will watch closelt any Jewish construction”. so stop bashing and criticising our hon. president.

Once the roadblocks are removed, Hamas will definately sieze control and Fatah and the PA will quickly crumble like cake. Then with the increased violence and Palestinian civil war in YESH, any hope of a withdrawal will end. Don’t worry. The Palestinians will always kill any peace.
