Buenos Aires, Argentina - The traditionalist bishop whose denials of the Holocaust embarrassed the Vatican was ordered today to leave Argentina within 10 days.

The Interior Ministry’s immigration agency ordered Richard Williamson to abandon the country because he “has concealed the true motive for his stay in the country” because he said he was an employee of a non-governmental group rather than declaring “his true activity” as the director of a seminary.

Williamson’s views about the Holocaust created an uproar last month when Pope Benedict XVI lifted his excommunication and that of three other bishops consecrated by the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre as part of a process meant to heal a rift with ultraconservatives.

The flap led the Vatican to demand that Williamson recant before he can be admitted as a bishop in the church. It also prompted the ultraconservative society, to dismiss Williamson as director of the La Reja seminary in Argentina and to distance itself from his views.

The Vatican spokesman, said the Vatican had no comment on the Argentine action. A person who answered the phone at the society said Williamson was still in the country, then hung up.

I am very surprised at how responsible the Argentine Government, the German Government and the Pope has acted regarding this hateful man Williamson. I am cautiously optimistic that perhaps the above leaders truely wish to right the wrongs of their past and prevent this hateful man from gaining support or legitimacy. Call me cautiously surprised.

This is only through hashem's guidance of course. Who would ever have believed that Argentina, the hiding place of so many nazi criminals who were once openly welcomed, would now turn completely around and kick this bum out in front of the eyes of the whole world!
This is just in time for PURIM!!
Vinehapachoo. It has been turned around!

I am sure that Spain would be delighted to take him in but they would also not want to anger the pope!

Huh? Why would the curia want anything to do with him? Where on earth are you pulling this from?
