AFMDA, the U.S. fundraising arm of the Israeli Red Cross organization, announced the cancellation of its benefit gala in a statement provided to Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold on Thursday.

“After considerable deliberation, AFMDA – an apolitical and humanitarian aid organization – will not hold its 2018 Palm Beach Celebration of Life Gala at Mar-a-Lago,” the statement said.

Some of the groups that cancelled their events cited Trump’s response to Charlottesville as the reason for cancelling. In other cases, groups said the venue was detracting from the message of their events.

The club makes between $100,000 and $275,000 for such events, Fahrenthold reported for the Washington Post.

There had been 16 galas or dinner events scheduled for the winter season at the resort before the cancellations. At least three other groups cancelled charity luncheons in the last week as well, according to the Washington Post.

Trump has frequently made weekend visits to the resort since becoming president.

Such politically correct silliness. At Kiddush this Shabbos someone brought up a hypothetical question.2020 the two candidates running for president are the leaders of the alt left (a BLM, BDS PLO supporter)and alt right (white supremacist Neo Nazi supporter) who do you vote for? the answer unanimously was the alt right candidate. Both groups are anti-semites, but the alt left stands for anarchy. Yaakov avinu taught us how to deal with an Aisav. (and sadly we lived under many an aisav) Daven, bribe them, and try to fight them. The mishna in pirkei Avos Perek 2 says to daven bshlomo shel malchus. We cant live in a country where anarchy reigns.

It is hard to imagine these groups sharing an event room used by the friends of the Nazis.

To #5 and #6The point of my comment was to show that Trump was not only correct in condemning both sides, but that the leftists, whom these boycotters seem to be endorsing, are in fact more dangerous then the neo Nazis.

Dear American Friends of Magen David Adom. Don’t even think of asking me for a donation again! All the best.
