Brooklyn, NY – Detectives at the 66th Precinct are turning to the public for help, hoping newly released photographs will lead to the arrest of a man who attached a skimmer to an ATM machine at a Borough Park bank.

Police said that the suspect entered the lobby of The Berkshire Bank branch at 16th Avenue and 49th Street at approximately 7:30 PM on August 1st. Security cameras at the bank recorded images of the man placing the skimmer into the ATM located in the bank’s lobby.
The suspect, a white male, was wearing a purple t-shirt, denim shorts, sneakers and a black baseball cap at the time of the incident. He was last seen heading southeast on 51st Street towards 17th Avenue.
An NYPD spokesperson said that they could not say at this time how many people were affected by the skimmer or how much money was involved in any affected transactions. A manager declined to comment on the matter.
