Israel – No peace agreement can be secured with the Palestinians unless Israel is willing to divide Jerusalem, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Friday.

“There will be no peace if a significant part of Jerusalem is not the capital of the Palestinian state,” Olmert said during a public appearance before northern residents.

Addressing the change in his political views over the years, the PM said: “When you sit on the chair of the prime minister, which isn’t very comfortable, you have a panoramic view of everything, from end to end…when you see a panoramic image you have to reach different conclusions than the ones you reached when you only had a partial picture.”

“I had to ask myself whether I will be clinging to the positions I espouses for all those years, or whether I will be moving forward,” Olmert said. “Rabin, may he rest in peace, was getting there, but the bullet of an assassin stopped him. I started seeing things a little differently ever since than.”

    ‘Shalit rallies unhelpful’

The prime minister added that “we must not deceive ourselves; this move is inevitable,” noting that “Ehud Barak almost understood it in Camp David in 2000.”

“It is no secret that there are disagreements between us,” Olmert said. “Yet he undertook a brave step. He was willing to renounce everything.”

Turning his attention to abducted IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, Olmert said that rallies aimed at pressuring the government to secure Shalit’s release aren’t helpful.

“Rallies of 20,000 people are unconstructive,” he said. “They boost Hamas – the scum of the earth who are holding Shalit.”

Kol hakovod to Ohmert for speaking the truth about the ultimate reality of dividing yerushalyim to achieve a final peace settlement. Hopefully, the new government will accept this reality and use it as a basis for restarting negotiations.

Olmert will be divided before Yerushalyim Ihr Hakodesh is divided. Hasn’t Olmert noticed what happened after he gave Gaza to them? What they did to millions of dollars worth of farms that they could have used to jump start their economy. They don’t need money or land. They want Israel to be destroyed. Halocho b’yeduah she’esov soneh es yakov. This holds true for Yishmoel too.

This Olmert and Haman are very identical. They both have no idea what they are doing, wan’t to murder Jews, and hate the frum Yidden.
Olmert is surely being mekayem “ad d’lo yodah”, as he doesn’t know what he is talking about, but speaks like a drunk.
Yerushalayim belongs to HKB”H and the Yidden. It would be a very sad day for us, if c”v, HKB”H decides to take it away from us.
Purim is a z’man tefilla and teshuva. Beg for Klal Yisroel, for Eretz Yisroel, and for the Geulah.

    Olmert is headed to Jail.

The Court system in Israel is controlled by the left and no matter who is in the prime ministers chair, they get “converted” to follow the dogma of the left because the left threatens them they will dig up some dirt on them and get them convicted, booted out of office and Jail too.

That’s what they did with all prior Prime Ministers and it is why even PM form the right had to switch to a policy of the left to keep themselves out of Jail.

This is Olmerts most recent attempt to “serve” the left to help take off a little of the heat of his legal problems.

Olmert is 100% correct. There won’t be peace without dividing Jerusalem. BUT…. there won’t be peace with dividing Jerusalem either. There will never be peace, until Moshiach comes Bimhayrah Biyamaynu, Amen.

Jerusalem already *is* divided. How many Jews *ever* visit an Arab neighborhood other than Ir David or the Old City? Why, there is even a separate bus system for Arabs. And if we really cared about the entire city rather than just the Jewish parts, we’d see to it that the trash got collected in the Arab neighborhoods, which look like dumps. Is that any way to treat the holiest city in the world?

Mr. Olmert, please realize that giving land for appeasment has never worked, it did not work with Gaza, it did not work with Poland, Chekoslovakia, or the other lands, given to Hitler Y.S, and it will not work with these murdering terrorists either. If you follow this un holy path of yours with your panoramic vision, your fate awaits you, C.V.

If we are dealing with Human Beings, and we know the danger of Bombings and Suicide Bombing would really come to an end then I say we seriously have to consider peace. But we are dealing with people that are lower then animals, Vermin. There words mean nothing. Therefore there is nothing to talk about.

Anyone who thinks there is ever going to be peace over there is delusional. It would be great if we could have it somehow, but sadly, it’s just not going to happen. Really. I can not comprehend how people can be so stupid sometimes…does the PM not SEE what has happened each time Israel has given land back? It will never, ever be enough. If we are not going to have peace either way, we might as well keep all of our land. Think about it; the ME is made up of tons of Arab countries…and they NEED one tiny piece of land the size of NJ too? You know that if the ME was predominantly Jewish and the Arabs wanted this land, and we wanted it too, the world would be all over us. And they say JEWS are greedy…

    Say No to dividing Jerusalem.

the giving them gush katif was never meant for peace, as even the left view chamas as a terror group. it was meant so that after that we will be able to answer ever rocket with a huge strength, which of course never happened. but for peace? never was that even mentioned! since when did the chamas ask for land?? they’re not the pa! they want the whole of israel wiped of r”l, and say it openly! so giving them land wouldn’t appease them anyway. the giving them gush katif was because of the afforementioned reason. and so we cannot bring any proof of non peace in return for land from the gush katif story.
lets instead take a look at what happened between us and egypt. now there are some experts that warn constantly that egypt is only waiting for the opportunity to attack us, now they know it won’t pay them. but at least in the outside we had them off our backs for the last 30 plus years, in return for some land that doesn’t bring us anything anyway. so who said land for peace doesn’t work?
the one drawing lines between hitler and the palestinians is unfortunately correct. in the front against the palestinians land for peace won’t help.
but to say tat jerusalem is ours and we can’t give it up?? where in the world does it say we must have jerusalem in our hands?? are you all mizrachi here? you can say we shouldn’t give it to them because of security reasons, that is understandable. and that is the shita of the lubavitcher rebbe. but to say it’s ours?? we functioned quite nicely without jerusalem for nearly 2000 years, and there is no mitzva mentioned anywhere in the torah about conquering and obtaining the city of jerusalem. look at the old city, which is true jerusalem, and we have them in our hands. but three quarters of it is occupied by these filthy arab dogs. is that called having it in “our” hands?? come on, open your eyes and don’t let yourselves follow this mizrachi shita that ein daas raboseinu noche mize!! shavua tov to everyone.

While the refrain ‘land for peace’ will never work, I wonder why no politician has ever been smart enough to demand ‘peace for land.’ In other words, cease all terror activity and crimes against Jews for 5 years, and after 5 years you’ll be entitled to land here. Makes perfect sense.

He thinks Rabin and Barak were brave because “they were willing to renounce everything” what an absolute moron. Only in Israel is bravery rated by how much of your country and your values your are willing to throw away. Can you imagine that criteria of bravery for an American President?? Say, President ___ is brave because he is willing to give away half of America to its enemies. The height of absurdity!!!

to #51 . you’re right about the point that chamas wasn’t in rule then, i missed that. i remember now that this was their slogan for the elections, that terror wins land. but still the engagement wasn’t meant to be a part of any peace treaty, and so you can’t bring any proof from it. and if you read my message, you saw that i wrote explicitly that fatah isn’t the one to make peace with, for exactly the reason you wrote. i just was saying that the disengagement isn’t a good example of it! get it?

the mitzva of lo sechunem is about land we purchased. of course in the time of the bes hamikdash the whole country was ours, till the first churban it was ours through hashem’s order to conquer it, and by the second bes hamikdash it was ours through the permission of koresh. who says it’s applicable to land we fought for and took away from the people living there? you’re probably cursing me now, saying i’m a leftist. but let’s look at things with a straight view without mixing in feelings the mizrachi brought into our community. it’s correct that we had this country some 2000 years ago, but we were thrown out of here. now lets take a look at history. the united states of america is built on the blood of thousands or millions of indians living there before. actually the whole world was built up this way, with constant wars back and forth. whoever was stronger won the fight and got whatever he wanted, including land money slaves and basically everything. and that’s how we were able to conquer our land. throughout history, or more exact in the last 90 years the world changed immensely, and negotiations and talks were brought into use. this is the purpose of the UN, right? since the un came into existence we jews had to bury the dream of taking this country by force, we knew right away that we’ll have to do with so called negotiations. what happened was, that we accepted the 2 state resolution the un proposed, but the arabs rejected, resulting in an even bigger country for us that planned and with no country at all for them.
anyway, my point is that between our being thrown out unlawful of our own country 2000 years ago till current, the rules of the game have changed and we must act accordingly. namely, since the arabs had lived here for years, what right do we have to throw them out? if we would have lived before the un, when force was legal, would’ve had all rights to be living here, on the blood of those living here before us. but unfortunately for us, today’s world is a world of negotiation!! (except of russia of course, they crushed georgia without any extra questions, but for that you have to be russia…..)
so am i saying we should have not fought the arabs at all? no that’s not what i’m saying. there’s this concept of self defense, namely we came here to live side by side with them, or at least that’s what we told them, and they refused, wanted to kill us all r”l. so it was or them or us. and so we had all rights to defend ourselves, even if it meant killing them and sending them away! but this still does NOT mean we own all this land to the extent that we’re oiver this lav of lo sechunem!!
you can say it’s assur to give it away because of security, to which i agree. but this does not mean we have a CHIYUV to hold it, it means that in the current situation we can’t give it away. think about the difference!!
i have no idea when or why, but somehow this whole shita of the mizrachi found it’s way into our heimishe community, making us all think against the daas of our own true rabbis. think about it please!!
