London – Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is to leave the Cabinet in the wake of a scandal over allegations against over her parliamentary expenses.

Mrs. Smith has been in the news in past few weeks over her decision to add U.S. radio shock jock Michael Savage on a list of terrorists to be banned from entering the UK.
But her resignation is not related to the Savage fiasco.
Savage will now be able to sue her personally..

Something was on the BBC.com last week and in the NY Times about her husband owing money to the govt. I do not remember exactly, It seems she paid it back very quickly because a lot of the party members were in trouble in Great Britain, her husband was one of them. — Will try to check it out.

Your inaccurate and misleading headline smacks of the worst form of yellow journalism. Smith’s decision to “stand down” had absolutely nothing to do with Micahel Savage being refused entry into Britain. You should be ashamed. Is this what passes for journalism at VIN?
Why hasn’t Savage called for an actual boycott of British companies? All he has said so far is that “Maybe I should call for a boycott.” He should go ahead and call one, we could start with the stealth British companies like Tesco’s ‘Fresh and Easy’ and so on!
