Crown Heights, NY - Homeless families who hit the jackpot by landing in luxury condos in Brooklyn shouldn't get too comfortable, Mayor Bloomberg recommended today.

"We're not going to let people just sit there. This is a transition thing. We want to move them out," the mayor said of the spanking new unsold units in Crown Heights leased to a non-profit by desperate developer Avi Shriki, (as was reported here on VIN News).

"And if they say, 'Oh, I love this here, I don't want to try something else,' I'm sorry, that's not the whole intent here."

Bloomberg pointed out that the city is getting a steal in the depressed market by paying $90 a night, or $2,700 a month, which is the going rate for much less fancy digs.

So, now we will have all kinds of meshuganas coming here and looking for this "Shelter".

2700 is what the city pays for the "community organiziation" they then pay rent to the developer .
they also have to provide , security ,transition help for the homeless, finding jobs etc ... and then the developer gets back a building that looks like a hurricane ran thru it

$2700 is what the developer/owner of the building is geting, according to his own words and if he was geting half that he would not have rented to the homeless!!
And in the article from last week it said that the developer/owner got a 10 year contract.
And anyways I hear the $2700 is the standartd price the city pays in the Bronx also & other homeless hotels.
Time to close down this whole crazy program of $2700 a month, where only the landlors's get rich off this.
I know personally a lot of landlords's. That got super-rich off this program.
Shame on the City wasting all our money.

Of course not; because chasidim aren't a threat to anyone. These people are.
