Officials for the airline and the Federal Aviation Administration said Flight 64 landed safely at 7:15 p.m. EDT at an airport in Halifax, Canada, after the pilot declared an emergency due to smoke in the mid-cabin.
The plane had departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York bound for Zurich.
American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan said there were 194 passengers and 12 crew members aboard.
Halifax Stanfield International Airport spokesman Peter Spurway said the smoke was traced to a fan motor in the bathroom.
All passengers got off safely, but one was taken away by ambulance to hospital, Spurway said.
"I don't know the nature of the issue whether it was related or not or whether it was just stress," Spurway said. "Everybody else is fine."

I was on an American Airline flight on Monday bound for London and waited on board for over two hours before takeoff with the doors locked, seatbelts on and ...just waiting... they were fixing the weather radar system. Of course everyone on board missed their connections because of this delay.
Aren't airlines supposed to check their systems before boarding??
They better start improving their safety features soon if they do not want to have more emergencies Chas V'Chalila!

AA inhumanely left the passengers stranded in the airport with no food for 7 hours already!!!!!!!! Only one bottle of water for each passenger! My father is in his 70's with a pacemaker and medication to take - no food!!!!! DISGUSTING! They should have placed the passengers in a hotel overnight. NEVER FLY AMERICAN AGAIN

Absolutely I agree however as was discussed on vin blogs many times we are first concerned about our family. Every yid is a part of family weather we think like him or not. We don't want anything negative happening to anyone. After that it is hoping noone else got hurt. Infact if you look at halacha and this is comparing first give your family charity then your cousins after that your friends. Later your home town and so forth the same goes for hurt an pain of curse I was glad when no one got hurt on Srully's plane I was excited athe miracle. Every miracle regardless who it happens to is a lesson for us yidden. Hashem created the universe for the Torah for Mossiach E"H to come and for golus to end. Every thing is once again a lesson for us to acknowledge, there for my first thought is any one I know on their. I hope this answers your statement.

1. Take a deep breath.
2. I was talking about the airplane itself.
3. Look up the definition of "sarcasm"

Becasue a yid feels really excited when people don't get hurt. For every sould it is a seperate Chasdaie Hashem that is infact part of living. If chas vesholom it was someone in your family wouldn't you say chasdaie Hashem. Again Klall yisroel is one family period. There for even though someone already said it we say it over and over and over again. I have a question for you when people are repeating the bashing comments about all the fights with satmar crown heights & so forth do you also say enough already? Lets us sincerely hope this plane wasn't a terrorist act like in Brazil if you read the above article.

I am not denying the "family" aspect at all. It was the tone that was concerning.
