Chicago, IL - In an interview on a liberal satellite radio show, Rev. Jeremiah Wright attempted to clarify his comments to the Newport News, Virginia. Daily-Press about “them Jews” preventing him from speaking to President Obama.

“Let me say like Hillary, I misspoke,” Wright said. “Let me just say: Zionists.”

Wright said “I’m not talking about all Jews, all people of the Jewish faith, I’m talking about Zionists."

The president’s former mentor and pastor made the comments on the SIRIUS LEFT show “Make it Plain” with Mark Thompson. You can listen to his comments HERE.

Wright then criticized Israel, saying, “I quote Jews when I say this,” and referencing books by Jewish authors such as “Judaism Does Not Equal Israel: The Rebirth of the Jewish Prophetic” by Marc Ellis and “The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine” by Ilan Pappe.

“I’m talking about facts, historical facts,” Wright said. “I’m not talking about emotionally charged words or the fact that like Jimmy Carter’s book, that because he used the word that Jews use, ‘apartheid,’ he gets labeled anti-Semitic.”

“They can jump on that one phrase if they want to,” Wright said, “but they can’t, they can’t undo history. They can’t undo the facts of Jewish historians and Jewish theologians who write about what’s going on, who write about the enormous influence that AIPAC has on our government and on United States policy and the United Nations.”

(Wright did not identify who “they” was.)

In his original interview with the Daily-Press, Rev. Wright was asked if he’d spoken to President Obama since his inauguration.

"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me," Wright said. "I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office.”

Wright said he would tell the president, if he could, to stay true to himself.

“He’s gotta do what politicians do,” Wright said. “Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza, “Ethnic cleansing the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don't want Barack talking like that because that's anti-Israel.”

Rev. Wright also said that “the Jewish vote, the A-I-P-A-C vote, that’s controlling him, that would not let him send representation to the Darfur Review Conference, that’s talking this craziness on this trip, cause they’re Zionists, they would not let him talk to someone who calls a spade what it is. “

Dear Reverend Wright,
You missed the point entirely again. I am Jewish and I am a Zionist and I am very glad and proud that I am a Zionist. It is you and the Arab Muslkimns who decided to translate Zionism as racism. Tha tis immature and sophomoric. Shall we translate freedom as torture? Of course not.
You on the other hand have seemed to find what Jimmy Carter found...oil money from the Middle East.
Your Arab friends are the ones who turned the desire for Zion into a negative meaning. Being Zionist is simply being in favor of Israel. Apartheid is a separate word with different connotations. You have chosen to associate "Zionism" with the Arab definition which is, "apartheid." Your Arab Muslim friends have not given anything to help their poor brothers in the Palestinian refugee camps. Would you call them names for abandoning their own brothers for 71 years? By the way, do you call the Lebanese people racists and lovers of apartheid? Guess what Reverend Wright?
There are Plaestinian refugee camps in Syria...are the Syrians Zionists? Are the Syrians racists? There also Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and in Jordan.
Are those countries racist? In Lebanon, Palestinians are not even allowed to leave their camps...have you complained about Lebanon?
In short, you are the real prejudiced one. You, Reverend Wright are as much a faker as Jessee jackson. You remember Jesse Jackson, Reverend Wright??
The Arabs carried him on a chair through the crowds of cheering Palestinian refugees. Did he not get money from the wealthy oil sheiks? Did Jimmy Caarter not get it?
Jessse is the one who ran around telling everyone how Dr. King died in his arms and he continued to wear the blood soaked shirt he was wearing then up on the balcony while he held Dr. King.
Or so he claimed until the truth hit him like the truth willhit you when youreealize that the people you are defending are the ones who will kill any Christian or Jew or Buddhist or Hidu who refusesd to accept the Koran. Jesse Jackson was not up on the balcony. They even tried to show the picture of Jesse Jackson up on the balcony with Martin Luther King. But that picture was taken the DAY BEFORE. It was a publicity shot. It was the NEXT day that Dr. King was shot WITHOUT Jackson there. You, Rev. Wright have also been mispeaking.
Jackson was down in the parking lot talking to a bunch of musicians. When the shots rang out, he ran and hid behind the swimming pool area and reappeared 20-30 minutes later when the television cameras arrived on the scene. The next morning, he flew to Chicago and went on the NBC "Today Show." In the meantime, he had hired a public relations agent.
So here is a guy who is in such grief from Martin Luther King's assassination that he comes back to Chicago and has the presence of mind to have himself taken from interview to interview in a chauffeur-driven car with a P.R. agent. The P.R. agent takes him to the NBC "Today" show, he appears in that bloody shirt that he claimed is smeared with Dr. Martin Luther King's blood and he says on national television, "He died in my arms" – an absolute, complete, total lie.
In Yiddish we have a saying Reverend Wright.
When they spit in your face, don't try to say it's raining." Face the truth reverend. They hate you and want to kill you efvwenwhile they look in your eyes and smile and even while they give you money.
Apologize Reverend. Don't give us the "mispoken" word. you are not Mrs. Clintion. Where is your own integrity?

Remember, Obama regularly attended this man's church for 20 years. Bet he never heard him say anything bad about "them Jews" either. Besides, Obama has Axelrod and Emmanuel as advisors and Nadler and Wasserman-Schultz (et al) insisted he LOVED the Jews and he LOVED Israel and was going to be the BESTEST friend Jews and Israel EVER had in the White House bla blah blah, yada yada yada, so he couldn't POSSIBLY be a sonei Yisroel, right?

Yeah right.

The quote is worth citing in full:

"When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews. You're talking anti-Semitism."

He has done nothing to convince me that there is sincerity behind this. Why would I be stupid enough to accept his clarification (veiled apology)? His anti-Jewish rhetoric has been ringing loudly for so many years, and he has captured people in his frenzy to declare Jews as his enemies. Now, we should believe him? That's absurd. Why is anyone paying attention to him outside of those who monitor criminal movements?

The only people that might like jews and not zionist are the NK's (and even with them, I have my doubts sometimes)

Martin Luther King, jr. was friends with Israelis and Zionists, but he did not make the statement that you refer to.

Wright grew up in a neighborhood that has always had a presence of Jews of diverse political, social and religious leanings. He attended Philadelphia's Central High School, which has always had a significant Jewish presence amongst its faculty and student body.

He knows exactly what he means when he says "Jews."

What a stooge -- Not exactly the messenger of Xian love. This 3rd-rate fulminating hate-monger needs to shut his ignorant trap. I guess his special brand of third-world-solidarity Xian doesn't read in the Bible how G-d gave the land to us -- and anyway we've BOUGHT or FOUGHT FOR it with our blood, our tears, our children's lives. His hatred boils from what? Who exactly is he referring to when he says "Zionists"? He's a Xian preacher and he doesn't know that Jews are the people who think Israel is the Jewish land!! Why doesn't he say "the State of Israel" if it's not about "Jews" that he's so peeved?

Jun 12, 2009 at 12:03 AM PMO Says:

This guy is just a antisemite and one day he will get what is coming to him... either in this world or the next. That is all there is to this story. The more we talk about him, the more attention he gets. We need to stop talking about him and giving him the attention he so desperately wants.

As Orthodox Jews, if there is only one shul within walking distance, we are without choice. If the Rabbi there has hashkafot unlike ours, or says things wthe which we disagree, we cannot go elsewhere.

There is no shortage of churches in the Chicago area. The Obamas could have driven a few more minutes every Sunday, to find a congregation with a "Morah D'asrah" (lihavdil), whose views are less anti white, anti American and anti Semitic. They stuck with the Reverend Wright. That should have sent a clear message to all of us.

Unfortunately, many of our fellow Jews were blinded by something.

It's time they woke up!!

Don't bother giving Wright the title "Reverend", he doesn't deserve it.
