"I think the President would likely tell you, as I think anybody would that has smoked or been addicted to smoking, that it is a lifelong struggle," said press secretary Robert Gibbs.
Gibbs acknowledged the President still chews Nicorette to deal with his cravings.
Obama said of the new legislation: "We've known for years, even decades, about the harmful, addictive and often deadly effects of tobacco products. Each year, Americans pay nearly $100 billion in added health care costs due to smoking"

thats probably why i see mr obama looking so relaxed.... sitting in the limo with his feet up on the seat in front of him... sitting on a step in front of the courthouse.. you notice these things. hes a bit more casual than anyone before him. could it be the effect of nicotine in his system?

my friend, every single addict (including those who get sick and/or die and cost the taxpayer = you - loads of healthcare costs) starts with just one...once in a while...until they realize they are a full blown addict and it's to late to not have the first one...so go ahead and do something else, do not go ahead and enjoy nictotine because its a hard habit to break! (I am, unfortunately, a smoker going on my umpteenth quitting attempt...so I KNOW you' advise is completely wrong)

Smoking doesn't cost the taxpayers anything. The 100billion is more than covered by the taxes on cigarettes. The taxes are to cover the supposed costs.
We need to stop believing the numbers Obama spreads as they are blatant lies.
