Syracuse, NY - Abraham Silverbush is the luckiest man in Syracuse: The 77-year-old shop owner will share his $35 million Mega Millions jackpot with his wife Celia and five kids. Silverbush was revealed as the lotto winner during a news conference this morning.

Silverbush owns Silverbush Upholstery Shop in Syracuse, and his wife Celia is a 4th grade teacher at Franklin Magnet School of Arts.

Silverbush says he has been using a "secret system" to pick his numbers, and this time, it worked. He purchased the winning ticket at Chase's Cigar Store in Eastwood on May 29th.

"All my life I have worked multiple jobs to support my family," said Abraham, the owner of the Silverbush Upholstery Shop in Syracuse. "My first reaction was this cannot be true. I still don't really believe it is true."

The Silverbushs will take home a lump sum payment totaling $22.2 million. Abraham and his wife plan on buying a new home. They have lived in the same home on Westcott Street for more than four decades, and plan to purchase a single-story home.

Their son Bradley spoke for the family at this morning's news conference, and he says he plans on paying off some of his bills.

Bradley says it took the family a bit of time to come forward, because they wanted to seek financial advice.

The other Silverbush kids, who will share in their fathers' winnings, are:

* Mark Silverbush, 47, an assistant director at the LaSalle School for Boys in Albany

* Jeffrey Silverbush, 44, an attorney now living in New York City

* Bnai Silverbush, 37, also a practicing attorney in Syracuse

* Edward "ER" Silverbush, 31, a marketing consultant in Syracuse

Typical ignorant and bigoted response. Forget all the other shnorers that will be showing up, just list the Israeli ones. Frankly, if i were lucky enough to win one of these jackpots, I'd take my time to come forward too. Not because of the "Israeli" shnorers, but because of all the others in general that would come out of the wood work. It's amazing how many cousins you suddenly find out you have when you come into money.

Also, the word is THEIR not there.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, nonetheless, in my house I usually have Israelis show up and "shnor" while their children throw rocks at none religious Jews.

the fact that he won has nothing to do with any "secret", otherwise he would have won a long time ago. He won because of Divine Providence and doesn't want ot give credit. To those of you who wish to make fun of Divine Providence... i have rachmonus

the chances of winning again, while it has happened is astronomical, something like one hundred billion to one I read somewhere.

What's the problem with shnorers showing up by his door?

If I win the lottery I will be happy to give for people in need.

U don't know what it means when u have to shnor, the people that need to shnor are big RACHMUNES.
TZEDUKA is not from the easy MITZVOS but its a very big MITZVA to give them money with a smile.

This people are broke. Try it out for one day and you will see.

I'm talking from experience I know how it feels.

I give for every shnorer some money (even I don't have for me) if I'm very short in money I will give at least 5 cent with a smile and I'm telling them I'm sorry I can't give more I wish I can give you more

Remember when u help a TZIBROCHENE NESHUMA you have a big big MITZVA

TIZKE LEMITZVOS

Acutally, it's the first time you've noticed. Had it not been for this site bringing it to our attention you still wouldn't have known. Honestly, how many times do you check out to see who's won?
