Washington - White House Rescinds July 4 Invites to Iranians |

Washington - The White House has rescinded the invitations to Iranian diplomats to attend July 4 celebrations at U.S. embassies around the world.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said nobody from Iran RSVPed to come, and at this point, the invitations are no longer valid.
"Given the events of the past many days, those invitations will no longer be extended," Mr. Gibbs said.

Could it be that they were invited KNOWING they would not attend? That the snub would give the US the opportunity to show that we are "trying" with Iran and the IRANIANS are the ones blocking diplomatic efforts? Could it be that our President knows more than you do? Could it be that our President has plans in the works that he didn't call to discuss with you first?
Maybe the only fool here is YOU who can't see the forest through the trees.

maybe YOU are the fool since every day obama delays taking action on iran they are getting closer to a nuclear bomb and it is obvious to anyone it wont work, meanwhile obama is wasting precious time.
YOU are a fool to trust the government the israeli government always does idiotic things like remove check points and release terrorists as "good will" gestures to fatah which are usually followed shortly by suicide bombings. Of course israel tells us at the time to trust them since they know more than us. Bush also told us trust us in 2002-2003 we know what were doing well make iraq a democracy. I didn't vote for Obama. However, I believe in objectively looking at situations rather than just spewing misinformation on topics I know nothing about. I don't have NEARLY enough information about what Obama's plans are to really have an opinion. However, I DO know that there is more going on behind the scenes that I don't know about. I will wait (as I did with Bush) to form my opinions after I see some results.

Oh I get it now... thank you. When the draft-dodger who graduated last in his class and ran his only 3 companies into the ground was spewing out lines like "you're either with us or against us", THAT was clearly good international policy. WOW! Thank you so much for setting me straight. (sarcasm intended)
I accept with Obama (as I did with Bush) that there are MANY parts of the story that I am not going to be told about. I accept that there are MANY parts of the plan that I will not be consulted on in advance.
Do you not see that Obama's willingness to open up to Iran on a path of freedom had a LOT to do with emboldening the people of Iran to step up and take to the streets? Have you read ANY of the commentary coming out of Iran that clearly shows that these people believe that Obama can help bring about freedom in Iran? (I'm not saying that I agree or disagree that he can... just what's being reported by Iranian bloggers/journalists)
As for Iran getting nuclear weapons, even the Israelis have had to admit that their intelligence is wrong and that Iran is much farther away from getting a bomb than anyone thought.
As a Libertarain, I don't believe in taking international action unless it is 100% immediately necessary in order to protect American lives.
