Woodbourne, NY - A Brooklyn man was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center this afternoon after driving his car into a brook off of Route 52, according to Fallsburg town police.
AW, 21, reported falling asleep at the wheel and then finding himself in the brook a little outside the hamlet of Woodbourne.
Hatzolah responded to the scene. He is reported to have broken some ribs and was taken by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center.

How about we take it upon ourselves to guard our bodies. A good start, regardless of where you are, is to not drive when you are exhausted. Second, the 'skills are loaded with winding and curvy roads that do not have shoulders. Use more care. It's not like driving slowly in traffic down Route 59, 13th Ave, Bedford Ave, etc.

As unfortunate as this incident obviously is, the driver is to be commended for admitting to what happened rather than concocting a story (animal jumped onto road, swerved to avoid another car, etc.) to absolve himself of blame, as I'm sure many others do in such cases.

do u have a better solution? if they can set up road blocks to see if you are drunk then why not to see if you appear tired?

that comment is an insult to all out of towners who drive far longer for simchas on a regular basis

why is it an insult? it is actually a very good way to make a trip of ANY long distance. whats wrong with doubling up when you have to go to a simcha?
