Jerusalem - A privately owned fund is offering low rental huge apartments to Jewish families to encourage them to move to the predominantly Arab part of east Jerusalem.

A report in Maariv today said the Israel Lands Fund is searching for Jewish occupants to rent a five bedroom apartment in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina, for $400 a month. The apartment is in a four-story building already inhabited by seven Jewish families.

Arieh King, director of the fund, a private organization that purchases properties for Jewish settlement, said the organization's aim is to assist Jews in purchasing Arab properties in east Jerusalem, and strengthen the Jewish presence in the area.

"After the properties are purchased, they are registered in the names of the Jewish owners, and we assist in renting them out," he said.

The organization operates in a number of Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem. King said he also hopes to bring a new tenant to a building in Beit Safafa in south-east Jerusalem.

What a wonderful idea...pour more gasoline on the flames of the dispute regarding settlements at the same time yiddin already living in jeruselam ae tearing at one another over the parking issue. The timing of this couldn't be worse, whatever you happen to believe about settlement rights in territory that may ultimately be restored to Palestinian adminisration as part of Netanyahus's two state solution.

This neighborhood was Jewish before the Jews were driven out by the Arabs. One can see the spot where the mezzuzahs were inbedded in the stone doorposts. The current Arab inhabitants have tried to fill in the carved out area and obscure the spot where the mezzuzas were affixed.

If there are Jews living there, it is harder for Netanyahu or any other surrendering Prime minister to give it away to our enemies. The more Jews living there, the harder it is to jump into signing phony "peace agreements" that give away land to terrorists.

On the other hand, if we let the Arabs take all the properties in East part of Jerusalem, we are signing these fake agreements ourselves ahead of time. Kol Hakavod to the Israel Lands Fund.

Long, long overdue - almost too late.

Nothing is stronger then facts on the ground, so we need to be totally grounded.

The ONLY reason the Arabs in Eretz Yisroel were able to CONCOCT a people-hood which never existed, and everyone knew that it didn’t exist, is because they are THERE. We need at least do the same, then – we’ll – talk; that is, if there will still be for what.

Wat's the catch?? in the basement and in every apt is a hidden door leading to the hamas underground operations. So don't be surprised if you hear that door opening in middle of the night.....

very cheap when you know the high price of apartment in Israel, even though i don't think it's a good idea to attract people to settle in arab villages just to support the ideology of the governement... maybe my friend would be interested anyway she's looking forward to move from kochav yaakov...
