Wahington – Israeli authorities say they have nabbed a wanted American fugitive in Tel Aviv and are preparing to deport him back to the U.S.

Sabine Haddad of Israel’s Interior Ministry says immigration officers received a tip from Interpol on Monday on the whereabouts of 33-year-old Micky Louis Mayon. Mayon, is wanted in the U.S. for many federal crimes , among them membership in the notoriously racist organization the Ku Klux Klan, the burning of vehicles belonging to federal judges and several charges of severe violence.
Haddad did not give his hometown, but the Web site of the U.S. TV program America’s Most Wanted identified a fugitive of that name as being a white supremacist from Steelton, Pa. The site says he fled to Israel in 2007.
Officers burst into his apartment in south Tel Aviv late Monday and arrested him. Haddad says he is currently being held pending deportation within days.
