Jerusalem - The number of tourists visiting Israel in the first half of this year dropped by 20 percent, a report released by the Ministry of Tourism said.

The report said 1.2 million tourists visited Israel between January and June, a 20 percent drop compared to the same period last year.

The Central Bureau of Statistics said 208,000 tourists visited Israel in June, a 16 percent decrease compared to the number of visitors in June 2008.

Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov said his ministry has increased the marketing budget for the next two years to curb the trend.

And thanks to those Chareidi bochurim rioting in Yerushalayim, it will go down even further. Since they don't want to hold a job, they are determined to kill the jobs of all those who work in the tourist industry, EY's largest employer, by making it even less attractive for people to come and watch them burn garbage.

Wonder why, considering how the Charedi parasites in Meir Sherim are chasing tourists away with their rioting.

HANG ON! Do not blame chareidim for this. Real yirei shomayim are not doing these things. Phonies... a terrorist cancer... that makes up a VERY SMALL number of people in our community are committing these crimes. These people are nothing more than violent dogs who need to be caged.

Everyone needs to realize that this is a small group of people who hate Torah and everything that is not part of their terrorist cults. Please do not judge all chareidim by those who commit arson and attempted murder. They may dress like us, live in our communities and speak yiddish... but they are not, in any way, a representation of Torah. The overwhelming majority of us know that this is not part of a Torah life.

We are all culpable. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Where are the counter demonstrations by Jews in chareidi levush? Where are the powerful, unequivocal statements from our leaders? Where are thKol Koreis? The only significant action I've seen so far is Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz's letter writing campaign and he' just one guy in Monsey. Sitting around whining that "they're really a "very small number" and they "don't represent the Chareidi communitee".doesn't do anything. Real Chareidim have to take back the street from the cockroaches who are, C'V, spitting in G-d's eye and demeaning all Torah Jews.

I've wanted to go to Israel for years: Some unexpected expense always comes up. Now that I've retired, leaving town has become problematical, much less going to Israel. I know that young people have much more opportunities. Older middle class Americans are out of luck.
