Monsey, NY - A health care mobile from Bikur Cholim of Rockland County parked at 25 Robert Pitt Drive in Spring Valley went up in flames at 4:30 a.m.
No one was in the van and there were no injuries, said Spring Valley Fire Chief Ken Sohlman, who responded to the scene.
Sohlman said it took about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire. The fire damaged a car parked behind the health care unit, he said. Sohlman said the Rockland County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation was investigating.

Why is it always "arson" everytime a fire occurs at a chassideshe facility? The said the same thing yesterday about the fire at the Skvere summer camp with all the fire hazards.

This was a parked vehicle. They generally do not just burst into flames.
As far as by Skvere, the fire happened in an unused building without electric. Do you think it was spontaneous combustion? There are many known incidents of volunteer firfighters setting fires. I have seen the local volunteers in action. It does not take any imagination at all to consider they may have set this fire. Certainly after the chief made his remarks.
I am sure you would not hesitate to say it wa an insurance job but cannot understand that there are those who would set a fire with little or no provocation.

When a fire breaks out for no apparent reason, it gets investigated. Its the investgators that make the arson designation.
