Umane to your suggestion; not Uman, where there seems to be less native umanity.

Let’s stop this. We get out. We stop supporting their economy.
We protest by not spending our money there on that hotel.
Bye Bye Umen. hello Eretz yisroel and we bring R’ Nachman’s atzomos with us.

There is tremendous confusion here. There have recently been some fights in Uman involving some of the, shall we say, more aggressive elements who call themselves Breslovers, in relation to local Ukrainians.

It truly amazes me how stupid we Jews are.Wekeep supporting a country that has a reputation for killing us.They were worse than the nazis. They enjoyed doing it.take the body tp Eretz Yisroel if they’ll let you but stop going there.

Thunderbird, I suggest you step out of your paranoia and examine the facts. There are certain elements of Breslov who create alot of tension in Uman with the Ukrainians and have made a chilul hashem in the past. They want the Ukrainians believe that THEY are the balabos in Ukraine, and not the Ukrainians. I have seen it with my own eyes.

Despite how desirable it maybe to remove Rebbe Nachman to Israel the Pilgramages there and to other such holy sites throughout Unkraine, Poland et. al. Help protect the Jews still living there. What would life of the 1,000 or Jews living in Uman as part of the population?
Who ever acted this way around the time of year when only women go to the Rabbi’s gravestie tells the reader what type of people are doing these lowly things.

AH is 100% correct. The fact is that the Rebbe WANTED to be buried there and has tremendous reasons of doing tikkunim for thousands of people buried there, and for the rest of the Yidden who make it to Uman. He will never be transferred because from shamayim it will be prevented.

Another point should be made – the Haidamak rebellion was a popular uprising of the oppressed Ukrainians against the Polish conquerors that had continued since the time of Chemelnitski. Unfortunately the Jews were identified as supporting the governing power as tax collectors, estate managers, etc. who oppressed the Ukrainians. In all the massacres in which Jews were killed, thousands of Poles were also killed. It also did not happen all at once. It appears that Jews were in Uman because they were fighting on the side of the Poles, but when they were trapped in the fort they were told they would be able to come out as long as they bent down to go through a low door which faced a crucifix. Not a single Jew, not even children, were willing to do this. This therefore is the most important part, the great Kiddush Hashem!

There is no point in projecting paranoia, boycotts, hatred at every turn. We are in golus and we have to get along with all peoples today whether we like it or not. Zionism is not a salvation for Jews. It’s leading us over the cliff.

How stupid we Yedin are.We support the town of Uman where the biggest anti-semites live.Without the money that the Chasidim bring to them, the town would starve[which they deserve to do.]They will never let anyone take the body out of their town because there are no other stupid people to bring them money. The Ukrainians were worse than the nazis. They actually loved killing the Jews. Now, The grandchildren of the ‘Kedoshim” are supporting the murderers. Can anyone really be this stupid?

Thunderbird, stop ranting. Jews support many towns where there are kivrei tsaddikim by their visits. By their own activities they even support the Zionist state of Israel itself! Why are people always worried about the gentiles when they should be worried about cleaning up their own backyard? I don’t get it, I simply don’t understand this weird mentality. I can only describe it as narcissistic and paranoid. Gevalt!

Number 14 uses terms like narcisstic and paranoid.Does he know what they mean?To compare the activities of the government of Eretz Yisroel with the “chayos” in the Ukraine. There was a whole division of Waffen SS from Ukrain in World War II.Yiy are not paranoid, just plain “meshgah”

Thunderbird, it is not the government of Eretz Yisroel, it is the government of the State of Israel. By why do you ignore the point of cleaning up your own backyard and then worry about others, especially today in 2009!!
