Rabbi Rabinovitz has been criticized in hareidi circles on claims he has contributed to incidents at the Western Wall Plaza and the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar-Yochai (Rashbi) in Meron and mixing of the sexes at those sites. They have also accused him of cooperating with secular Zionists.

Rabinovitz has been trying to work out understanding between rival Hasidic groups at the Rashbi site. Recently he arranged for renovations at the complex and tried to bring it into the Holy Sites Authority.

it starts with garbage cans and throwing dirty diapers at the police..
now it appears to be a malicious assault on a frum rabbi
    this needs to stop now
the jewish community needs unity and mutual respect
i am not a rabbi but perhaps this is worse than mixing men and women at a public venue or allowing a parking lot open on shabbat.

When will we learn violence against a Rav has no place in Yiddishkeit, especially during the month of Elul. While one may not agree with Rav Rabinovitz, he should be shown Kovod HaRav for his position and physical violence is unaceptable. There are other ways to make our point. Yiden how can we expect others to show us respect when we resort to violence against our clergy.

    This is DISGUSTING!

Rabbi Rabinovitz deserves a huge amount of gratitude for trying to do something about the revolting conditions at the tomb of Rashbi and his son, and for trying to do something to maintain decorum at the kotel.

Is this the same Rabinovitz who tried to tell the pope not to wear hiz Tzelem when he came to daven at the kotel and then had to back down when the foreign ministry told him to back off?

This is also a halachic issue. Halacha not only tells us what to do- how to respect these sites, but also what our reaction should be when halacha is (apparently) violated. These fanatics have not consulted with a posek, or the Shulchan Aruch to determine how they should deal with Rabbi Rabinovitz. They relied on their own personal feelings and common sense. Which is why these kanoim are reform Jews. Lo sosur applies both to the right and to the left.
