New York – Hundreds Of Anti-Zionist Jews Protested Against Israeli Police

Religious Jews object to the government’s decision to keep the parking lot open on the Jewish Sabbath.

“The Israeli government and the Jerusalem municipal government are committing acts of brutality against religious Jews on a scale not seen in the last 65 years,” said Rabbi Menashe Fulop, a prominent Rabbi of the Satmar Hasidic community.

“For the past three months, religious Jews have been regularly beaten mercilessly at demonstrations, called by the chief rabbis of Jerusalem, against the parking lot set up by the city government right next to the walls of the Old City. The government is inviting Sabbath-desecrators from the entire country to come to the Holy City, the palace of G-d, the place where the Divine Presence resides, to insult G-d, who warned in His Torah against the desecration of the Sabbath.”
Rabbi Fulop speaking at the protest
“In which country in the world do religious Jews suffer as much persecution as in the state that calls itself Israel?” said Rabbi Fulop.

Yirmiyahu Cohen of the “Jews against Zionism” organization told Ynet that the demonstration was held as a show of support for the haredi community’s struggle against the opening of the parking lot on Shabbat, adding that police used “excessive force and did some cruel things.”

Cohen admitted that the affair served as an excuse for his group to protest against the State of Israel. “We are not against the Israeli people; we oppose the Israeli government and the fact that it is running the country instead of living in the Diaspora. According to the Torah, Jews must remain in the Diaspora until the coming of the messiah,” he said.

What a SHAME and what a SHAM at the same time. Is this what we needed at a time when Anti Semitism is at its Highest Levels since WW2? Don’t these protesters realize that they’re losing more (in the long run) that they’re gaining (in the short term)??

It’s very painful indeed. Hope they don’t do this again.

Rabbi Fulop has an American flag in that photo, what a nice PR stunt. Since when did Satmar or any hassidim care about American patriotism or would ever hang an American flag by their homes on Memorial Day or any holiday?

Israeli police have not faced brutality and violence from your people in 65 years either. You get bold and brazen year by year with disrespecting, not only the Israeli authorities, but ordinary Israelis who because of your intolerance towards other Jews reject religion and do not look up to your communities as positive role models to societies.

How beutiful this is. what a big kidush hashem. 1 policeman for hundrets of peaceful protesters. all goyim see how unbeliveble organized and quietly satmar chariedim voice there opinion. Thanks to this country there is no police brutality. When at the time the police in israel that calls itself the jewish state is being so brutal for the people of there own country. This protest is b’emes only for the honor of hashem (k’void shomayim) not for the honor of private people or political gain. The zechus of this very big mitzvah should come to hashem and help the people that where there and for the ones that where in mind that should have a “goot yur ksivah v’chasimah toivah”.

ignorant savage gangsters in nyc sticking up for their fellow gangsters in jerusalem.
any one with an ounce of brains in their head realizes that these riots and demontrations has absolutely nothing to do with shabbos or yidishkeit, but has everything to do with their irrational and sick hatred of medinas yisroel, and jews who don’t belong to their group

“According to the Torah, Jews must remain in the Diaspora until the coming of the messiah,” he said”.

A big Am-Ho’oretz. According to him the Talmidei Baal Shem, Talmidei Ha’Gra and Talmidei Chasam Sofer who came to Eretz Yisroel went against the Torah?

A few corrections. On the sign is says “sare” when it should say “fare”. In old English script (like in the Declaration of independence) the “s” looked like an “f”. The one speaking is Reb Zamen Leib Fulop (a Dayen in Satmar), not his brother Reb Menashe Fulop mentioned in the article.

Yesterday’s demonstration was by the Zalonim (Reb Zalmen Leib T”B’s fraction in Satmar), today is a car picketing by the Aaronim (Reb Aaron T”B’s fraction in Satmar).

Although I agree that the government in Israel should be taken to task, as they support the mayor’s foolishness in the way he handles such a sensitive city like Yerushalayim, these demonstrations leave a lot to be desired. First, there are those, as mentioned in the article (like Neturei Karta) who just found an opportunity to spew their crookedness. Then, Satmar is split, and two demonstrations (with politics through and through) become worthless. I don’t think a thing has been accomplished here, if to accomplish was the intention.

With all due respect to those who protested and are engaged in the issue this protest makes about as much sense as the banner in the picture above. What we need is achdus, raising our hands and shouting “Shabbis! Shabbis! has proven itself an ineffective way to encourage Shabbis observance.

May the day that all Satmar along with the rest of our brothers and sisters run to Eretz Yisrael with the comming of Moshiach be today!

Wishing all VIN readers and the entire Klal a gutt yar.

I can explain the word Sare in the banner in the top photo.

It is obvious that the organizers meant to say “Mass Murderers Fare much Better ….”

Someone along the way confused an S for an F which is quite common even if one’s mother tongue is English because they are both sibilants. So much more so, when one is unfamiliar with English and not realize that Sare is no a word.

Clean up your own house before causing a massive chilul hashem.

Every gentile that drives by and sees that sign is going to think two things:
1- Israeli courts are sympathetic to mass murderers and therefore by extension proxy mass murderers. Thereby verifying far left and Muslim sentiments that
Israel is some sort of fascist murdering state.
2- That satmar people cannot spell at all.

What about the satmar feuds with lubavitch? YU? or feuds with the Aron group and Zalman group Rebbes punching each other? or the feuds between KJ and the surrounding gentile communities? Or the massive tax evasion in thier community?

If the actions of riot police to actual riots is taken to generalize the entire Israeli court system. Then are the massive feuds and criminal activity of some satmars a generalization for the entire kehilla?

If you mention the hospital ladies and hesed as the true face of satmar then I would answer that within the medina of Israel there are more yeshivot and kollelim than at any time since the time of second beit midrash. Many if not most receive state money and that that is the true face of the medina.

this is so over the top that is laughable and do not think anybody takes these guys seriously. They probably think they are Neo Nazis dressed up as Jews

To actually say in public that the Israelis are treating them like Nazis did, is disgraceful and he should be thrown out of every shul in the world.

I hope some survivor spits on the guy or maybe I should take him in an ally and show how a real Nazi would have treated him.

The Germans must be thinking and holocuast deniers and neo Nazis will
have this on their web sites with a banner

“See we where right the whole holocaust think is a myth even this pious Jews admit it, maybe they where a little ruff with Jews but not that bad, we see the video of the riots in Israel. Nobody being killed no gas chambers maybe one or two got their heads cracked. see we where right the whole time. 6,000,000 never died”

    disgraceful.

If not condemned by the higher ups in Satmar, then they the Rebbies have lost all credibility to speak as JEWS, let alone people who hold up the Torah.

PS the Israel police probably treat the Satmar better than the two opposing Satmar sect treat each other. At least the Israelis let the people bury the dead

On September 3, 1939 the Gestapo raided apartment houses in Vienna and arrested all Jews who were born in Poland and did not have Austrian citizenship. In the apartment I lived Rueppgasse 18 a father and son were arrested. They were deported to Buchenwald. With a few the Urn of the father was delivered for which a fee was charged for cremation and later his son’s Urn . Yes those fortunate who had a cerrtificate were allowed to emigrate to Palestine and today they are protesting in N.Y. against Israel

these demonstrations have nothing to do with pious observance, it is done by a minority of fanatics , who want to impose their ideas on others. if these ULTRAS want to fight for the Sabbath they should try to close all the streets in Jerusalem.
Thank the Lord we live in the States where each one is free to do what he wants.

SARE stands for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education, a USDA competitive grants program supporting agriculture that is profitable.

So they were demonstrating against the “mass murderers” who who polute the environment. They understand that the SARE program is more important than pious Jews in Israel.

Since when are Hasidic Jews such environmentalists?

    Honestly, please explain.

Rabosai, please look at VIN’s picture on the front page on top, the 1 where the yungerman with the shtriemel is screaming at the policemen. That my friends is the difference between the 2 protesting groups. Enough said. That says it all. I think the Israeli police are using quite a bit of self control and restraint under those type of circumstances.

There is a utube of the protest. Most of the passers by on the street looking bored or confused. It’s hard to imagine the protest had any effect whatsoever, other than for the anti-israel, anti-semites who will post pictures on their websites to say “look even jews say the government of Israel is evil.” What these Satmar fail to understand is that when people hate and want to kill jews, they don’t distinguish between Satmars and zionists. Do they think that hamas and hizbollah and Iran will make sure they don’t hit the holey anti-zionist charedim when, g-d forbid, they aim their rockets and bombs at israel?

How can Satmar possibly protest chilul shabbos when it has violated an express negative commandment of the Torah – not to go to gentile courts? The Satmar factions spent millions fighting each other in court – airing their dirty laundry to the public and they are still figthing each other in the civil court system. This is plainly ossur and a chilul Hashem b’rabim. Let them clean up their own act before they critcize others.

I doubt its even by Satmar…Rather I think its time that Fulop guy should just get himself a life!! He the same who organized a violent protest against Rav Shteinman when n while he was giving a speech here in BP ..he’s the same wo went against Rav Dushinsky’s zt”l psak NOT to protest aganst israel while its under attack…its as Rav Yitzchok Alchonon of Kovnoh once stated there are 2 types of Kenoim’ as there are 2 types in the household who despises ‘mice’ there’s the housewife and then the housecat whilst both try to get rid of them the hosewife never wanted its appearance in the first place, yet the cat very much wishes it to appear and then get rid of it…the same with those so-called kenoim …V’hamven Yavin in wich category the fit into is it the cat that in fact wants the problem to appear and then given a wishful opportunity to wage a fight or not?!…I think we know the answer…

LOL did anyone notice the caption on the you tube movie? Zionist protest New York. Hahaha.
The only ones that made a kiddush anything was the NYPD who where extremely nice and accommodating to the protesters. I was there, it was nice to see the NYPD like that. Accommodating, helpful, respectful. I wish they where always like this.
To call other yidden Yemach Shemoms etc is in my humble opinion the opposite of kiddush hashem. Instead of bringing klal yisroel together before Rosh Hashono, they curse them out for Nazi’s and Yemach Shemoms. The reason why so little people where there is simple. Most Satmer Chasisdim don’t agree with this nonsense.
The people demonstrating where not business people from 47th street. They where people with a lot of time on their hands.
