Representatives of the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently visited Israeli chicken farmers, slaughterhouses and chicken food products, granting approvals to continue and expand poultry exports.

The visit was part of the FSIS’s regular inspections of worldwide factories that export chicken food products to the American market.
FSIS approval means that the U.S. considers veterinarian supervision to be equal to American standards.

The visit is expected to pave the way for expanded sales of Israeli poultry in the U.S. kosher market.
According to sources at the Israel Export Institute, Israel currently exports some 800 tons of chicken food products to the U.S, and experts say there is great potential to grow.

The expansion of Israeli exports is projected to set off further competition in a market that is currently dominated by major U.S. kosher poultry producers such as Empire, Agriprocessor, and several new smaller kosher poultry slaughterhouses.

Israeli hechshers are worthless, even the Israelis themselves don’t trust them, so why should we in the U.S. when there is plenty of choice? Most people would NEVER buy an Israeli chicken with a hechsher no matter how heimische because the system is so corrupt. Who eats in Israeli restaurants EVEN WITH a hechsher? Sell the chickens to the Argentinians or the Canadians, but leave the Americans alone.

Good maybe they will import chicken with a straightforward reliable hechsher like rav landau of benai brak and eida chareidis instead of all the monkey buisness that goes on in places like KJ and other privately owned shechitas

One of the biggest things that give me a sigh of relief when I visit the US or London (I live in Israel), is that the chicken tastes better than the Israeli chicken.
How suffocating this world is becoming, with less and less chances to get away and have even a sigh of relief!

lets not talk anymore about Tizmus Hagidin, lets address this article, all the poultry being imported fron israel is only cooked products such as Of-tov, Mama-of, Hod Golan Deli products, Hod Lavan deli, the only normal hashgacha is rabbi Babad on Hod Golan Deli

fresh or frozen chix or turkey’s from israel can’t be competitive in our market.

there is enough fresh chix & turkey products available now   very cmpetitive prices. guys start looking at the prices, just make sure you start demanding it from your retailer so he will have no choice only to pass the savings on to you the customer.
can anyone remember a price of Chicken Cutlets $2.99 lb. or bottoms   $1.49 lb. , stop bashing our hashgach’s here in the USA today everyone has a cho ice whos schita he wants to eat, we have here 9 Chicken Lables
Empire, Agri, kJ,David Elliot,Vineland ,Mehadrin, Malchuth, Marvid, Kosher Valley,
lets get smarter consumers and make sure the retailer does not keep these new drastic price drops in their pockets
