Last June, at a concert sponsored by B’Derech, the movement founded by attorney Ruchie Freier, to keep teenagers happy B’Derech HaTorah, Weinberger, performed a live-stage hypnosis act. The crowd was in awe and impressed by his ability to make people do things they would never do in public. His message to the crowd was “You can all be empowered to change your lives for the better. While the past is always a part of you and lies deep within your brain; with the right tools, you can learn to manipulate your brain to make you a happier person.”
This Sunday, iy”h, September 13th at 8:30 pm in the Belzer Hall, 5015 15th Avenue, Weinberger will speak at a B’Derech event for men only. His theme will be for parents to learn how they can improve their relationships with their children. He will also interview Rabbi Moish Mendlowitz, grandson of Reb Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz, zt”l, who returned to Yiddishkeit after leaving yeshiva and Torah and unlock the story of his past. Why he was turned off and what turned him back on to Torah? Also, Dr. Weinberger will interview Baruch Miller, a 22 year old ger tzedek who just moved to Boro Park originally from New Orleans, who just finished learning in Eretz Yisroel. He will demonstrate what makes a person’s brain come to the decision of making a life-changing decision.

Are we to believe this? I am not convinced that hypnosis is real. If it were real, Rav Twersky would have written about it as a method for positive change. In fact Chazal and Rabbanon would also have recognized it.

i was at the show,it was awsome,and it was totally for real.and number 1 fyi rabbi twersky does know about it,and yes he does have a doctorate.he helps hundreds of guys through his method……………….

Of course this presentation is a sham. I’ve seen it done in many settings. this performance happens to be pretty weak compared to others I’ve seen.
On the other hand, Bderech and Mrs. Freier are serious about their mission. If they have to utilize a little theatrics to get these guys on the right path then so be it. I don’t think she expected it to be exposed on youtube to the masses.
The video you see is edited down. If they would have shown the whole thing I could have pointed out where the trickery is. In really good set ups, each participant thinks he is the only one faking it and that the others are really ‘under’.

before criticizing this think about the people who can actually be helped by him. i had many issues that have been successfully resolved by working with him. he truly does amazing work for our community. he should continue to be successful in all that he does!
I am a client by mr. weinberger and he is an amazing and caring therapist. He is gentle and very ethical. He has a phd in hypnosis (not psychology) and he is a licensed social worker. he has lots of rabonim that send him clients.. he is a ben torah and learns everyday…
He volunteers his time to organizations and works on many people for free.. before you write about someone think…

finally! an outlet for our kids that can keep them off the streets and in good hands by being entertained by good kosher fun…we need more of such people who are willing to help out and address problems that unfortunately are so prevelant in our community

Hi everyone I see you are all looking very bad on how it went. I was the guy that Dr. Weinberger hypnotized and I never knew dr weinberger before that night and I still dont know him but when I do talk to him he is the most amazing guy out there.
and just for you info he said before the show that it will be on you tube and you can look at the positive that he kept 150 boys off the street that night. He was so nice that even though I consented for it to be on you tube he still let me see the preview and choose not to let it air if i didnt like it.
Before that night I didnt believe it was real and now I BELIEVE. I think all of you should start looking positive at him and this stuff.
well i have to say im a Chasidic social counselor and advance Hypnotherapist,
i help people daily with counseling and hypnosis,
i did take a curse on stage hypnosis, knowing that as a frum analytical Yiddish clientele that some have been or heard of stage hypnosis, i would be asked what is the difference betwin hypnotherapy and stage hypnosis,
so let me tell you some of the secrets
first stage hypnosis is real hypnosis, the subject has to be willing to go on stage and want to have a good time,
the subject is not fighting the hypnotist and is accepting suggestions, at any time if he wants or if he gets any kind of fear get out of it,
there is also used convincers like sound effects,
but it is a real working thing, I do it daily and my clients are very successful,

I know Mutty Weinberger very well and I can attest that he is the real deal. He has helped so many people with so many different issues. People really rely on him to get through their daily lives.

To all the critics. After just a few sessions with this wonderful therapist, you would learn that you can find the possitive side to almost anything. There is no need to jump on and critisize things, even as you may thing that a certain thing looks strange to you. There is no need to go neggative when there is room for possitive.
I think #25 is acting petty and should get a life and perhaps some therapy.
Mutti has helped too many people that there is simply no room for debate!!! He is a Social Worker who uses, at times, hypnosis as an extra piece to the session. It is not the basis of his doing.
I would like to thank Mr Weinberger for helping me the. last 2 years. He really did a wonderful job, and I’m no longer self consience.
