Damascus- Syria accused Israel of burying nuclear waste in tunnels in the Golan Heights, Syrian government officials said.

The Egyptian government-affiliated newspaper Al-Ahram said the officials made the accusations in a recent report dubbed “the suffering of Syrian citizens in the Golan,” submitted to the United Nations human rights commission.
The newspaper noted that similar accusations were made by Syrian government officials in 2003, when they said special Israeli army units were digging tunnels in Mount Hermon to dump nuclear waste from Israel’s nuclear reactor in Dimona.
In the recent report,Syrian sources said Israel has dug a tunnel in Mount Hermon to hide dozens of nuclear warheads and has booby-trapped the Golan Heights with bombs, tactical nuclear mines and combustible radioactive devices,the newspaper said.
It said Israel has attempted to downplay the accusations, saying it is digging anti-tank ditches in the Golan Heights.
The Golan Heights was captured by Israel in the 1967 Six Days War. Syria has insisted a full Israeli withdrawal from the Golan Heights is a key part to any peace deal.
This is a new one. Guess they’ve run out of Palestinian-related complaints for now.
That’s not a fair trade, full Israeli withdrawal for PART of a peace deal. It would make more sense, COMPLETE peace for part of the Golan. Any offer less then a real peace treaty, with guarantees, shouldn’t even be discussed.

But the whole world KNOWS that southern Lebanon has hundreds of tunnels booby trapped and loaded with tonnes of bombs and ammunition for their next war with Israel but does anyone – Israel included even make an announcement about it?!
Would it make sense to leave radiactive waste in the Golan which could go back to Syria and then have it be used in a terror attack? I dont think so.
For years Israels naghbors governments permited terrorists to use tunnels to smugle terrorists and weapons in to Israel across the boarder.
This is a very wise move by Israel to stuff all them up with nucleat waste so that any arabs trying to reopen these tunnels will self destruct.

Even if this were true, so what? Israel has every right to do this; I just doubt that they have, because they wouldn’t want the stuff to fall into enemy hands.
