“Governor Paterson has long been a friend to me and to the community I represent. More than that, I truly believe that David is capable of leading New York State in the right direction,” said Hikind. “There is no question that he has had a difficult first year, but all transitions are hard. I believe the Governor is entitled to the benefit of the doubt, and more importantly, he is due respect from his colleagues.”

Hikind continued, “The Governor has worked under extremely trying circumstances, and I am confident he will continue to work to resolve this state’s most challenging issues. I look forward to supporting his candidacy if he chooses to run for re-election in 2010.”

With all due respect to Dov, this governor has earned low approval ratings that are far beyond politics. His ineffectiveness has been legendary, and he crossed far too many boundaries for me, as an ordinary New Yorker, to tolerate another day, let alone 4-year term. I am street involved, and I am privy to the havoc his administration wreaked on programs that affect the less fortunate among us. He may be colored and blind, but I am color blind. Dinkins was a bad mayor, not because of his color but because of his distorted views and policies. I say the same for Paterson. he needs to replaced by someone more knowledgeable and effective. Hey, Dov, I’d vote for you. Are you in the running?

Gov. Patterson has already let us know what his agenda is. In his short term in office he has already settled a case for several 100K of taxpayer dollars for firing a state photographer because he was white. He has also publicly blamed his inadequacies as governor and the president’s problems on the racist media. And if you watch him hop out of his SUV every day, you’ll notice that every one.of his aides is….. black. I think the only two white people he speaks to are Ravitch and Hikind. The question is-what’s in it for Hikind?

So will I, I see no difference between him and Spitzer. What has he not done or done wrong that people do not approve? I’ll tell you what, he replaced Clinton with Gillibrand when the media wanted a Kennedy. That’s the only reason the media is writing him off and that’s the only reason I am going to vote for him.

First Of All , All Of You That Support Paterson Tell Me What He Has Done That Has Been So Great , As Far As I Know That Ever Since He’s Governor I Get Charged Tax Every Time I Make An Online Purchase Thanks to Him , There’s No Way I’d Vote For Any Liberal For That Matter Because They Will Turn Us Into New Jersey Which Has The Highest Tax And Especially Property Tax In The Nation , I’m Voting For Rudy Giuliani So I Can Start My Business Without Having To Worry About Me Being Taxed To Death.

Great move. Lets keep a weak incumbant Democrat in office so he can be blown away on election day. Until then lets support him so he will perhaps cooperate with our community’s needs during the rest of his term.

Very happy about this! I don’t want our President telling a sitting Gov what to do. I’m happy that people are standing up to him.

Come on Dov, its very easy to see thru this… Your preparing yourself in case guliani, ur enemy #1 will be the republican nominee. Good try.
Having said that, I do agree with you that he deserves more then a year to be judged. Let’s leave him there for 6 terms, eventually we will find out how good he is.
