New York - +NYS Thruway Shut Down Due To MVA+ A serious motor vehicle accident on the southbound of the New York State Thruway at M/M 43 near Tuxedo between two buses who pulled off to the shoulder because of a mechanical problem, and a 24-foot box truck who about five minutes after the buses stopped drifted over to the shoulder and slammed the back of the second bus, forcing that bus forward into the first, one aided is pinned between the two buses, BLS and ALS units working on the scene and requesting a chopper Air-1 to fly, L/Z on the Thruway, all lanes are closed, CMD on the scene FD and NY State Police are also on the scene requesting additional engine and Rescue from Woodbury.
The box truck slammed into the back of one bus, pushing it 15 feet forward into the back of the second bus, trapping the man who was working the broken down bus, in between. The victim who was a driver of one of the buses was pronounced dead on the scene.

Just spoke to someone on the Thruway and only the left lane is open now (3:15PM). Heavy delays on all roads including the 6 and old 17.
The summer fun of sitting Sunday afternoons on the thruway and 17, has begun. Enjoy it
